Body is a templeTbh I'm not really a fan of fried slice anyway, very rare that I do have it, even with a fry up I usually have normal toast.

Of course I have, but I've never heard anyone to have fried slice with dippy eggs..
Butter not oil is what I was thinking. Oil is good if fresh! When I was in the Army they used to knock up fried slice in the field kitchens and the oil they used was rancid. Put me off for life!
RTRHopefully you weren't a REME, as they use Castrol GTX
Royal Toast Reserves? For those who can't handle the elite Fried Bread Division.
Been told you boys were even tougher & cooked with derv
It’s the only thing that I am put off for health reasons. It’s just soaked up fat. When I was in the Army they used to knock up fried slice in the field kitchens and the oil they used was rancid. Put me off for life!
I think oil and butter fried look different, in butter it looks a lot more like what you posted.Haha! yeah I didn't think of butter, when I hear fried slice I just instantly think of oil! bread fried in butter is nice though yeah, especially on each side of grilled cheese sandwich.
Yeah not something you want often. Probably no worse than a donner kebab though. It’s the only thing that I am put off for health reasons. It’s just soaked up fat.
Yeah we did eat some dodgy stuff. We had some MRE's once that were foul, a whole shipment that had become compromised, still ate it though.Been told you boys were even tougher & cooked with derv
That explains everything.Yeah we did eat some dodgy stuff. We had some MRE's once that were foul, a whole shipment that had become compromised, still ate it though.
You have got to do what you have got to do when you're hungry.Yeah we did eat some dodgy stuff. We had some MRE's once that were foul, a whole shipment that had become compromised, still ate it thought
Exactly that, good food was scarce. You have got to do what you have got to do when you're hungry.

My main action was in 2 RTR, Sabre Squadron, two tours Iraq and one in Afghanistan. I know how they feel, I've seen some horrors and I don't like to talk about it either, and yes, it troubles me still today and will be with me till death but I wouldn't change it, I learnt so much and met some amazing people on the flipside.I have a few friends who served. Worse place for them was Bosnia & what they saw. They don't say much about it but I know it still troubles them today. They have seen action through the early 90 - 2010 between them. I know I couldn't do it.
So I thank you for your service
