The **Now Eating** Thread

Felt like a Cottage Pie day.

Tasty Plaice - Chips and a Donor Wrap, turned down the salad and just had ketchup and donor meat goodness.

These chips are incredible, they are coated in a light batter, tasting like scraps.

Love orange chips!!

You been to the Black Country today or are these fron elsewhere?

I shall now look for anywhere which specialises in “Orange” Chips.

No these were in Sheffield, Meadowhall in the food court at a place called “Tasty Plaice”

Photo’s don’t do them justice, but incredible..

Fair play, if I ever venture to Meadow hall I'll check that plaice out. Cheers

Orange chips are a black country thing, absolutely the best chips imo. Majors in Bilston (Near Wolverhampton) use new potatoes too. Truly amazing.

Christmas Shopping + Orange Chips? Has to be the best kind of Christmas Shopping under those circumstances.

Good to know, I often go to Walsall and head to Birmingham usually for a boozy night out, how would my chances be at finding Orange chips there?

These were my partners… Chips, Veggie Battered Saussage with Mushy Peas.. £5.99 and she could only finish half!

May have more chance in Walsall rather than Birmingham.

That place you mentioned in Meadow Hall has a shop in Birmingham too.

So turns out my chances in Birmingham aren’t too bad :p
20 years ago it was a thing and very popular in the Black Country along with the Battered Mars Bar if you remeber that at all.
I may have bumped into the battered chip elsewhere but not 100% sure either way no-where near as good. It's like if you want a good square sausage (holds Breath thats not gonna come back on me) then Scotland whould be the place.

I’m aware of Battered Mars Bars - Never tried one.

A favourite of mine is Potato Scallop Butty with plenty of Salt and Vinegar.

Normal chippy chips don’t wow me, but I’ve been spoiled with the ones today and it’ll be my new go to.

Battered Mars Bar is more of a Scotland thing I believe.

And you should definitely find out where to get them! Either that or heard to Bilston on the Metro and go to Majors.
