The **Now Eating** Thread

Beef casserole, although right now I'm eating today's forgotten sandwiches, this is actually for tomorrow.

Found a roll of brisket for £1.29 and figured this is another one of those slow cook type cuts. Otherwise, I didn't have a clue what to do with it so this is a guess-recipe.
Heated the casserole pan up and popped it in, slammed the lid down quick as it was pretty hot. God the smell was lovely. Flipped it over a few times and then poured in a load of stock, this seems like a good idea as it pulled off all the stuck bits on the bottom of the pan, and then added the usual veggies/lentils. Forgot to brown off some onions before doing this though, also forgot to add the butterbeans I'd found :/
Otherwise it looks and smells great :)

Isn't there something else missing as well, cainer? ;)

Made a nice shepherds pie using Lamb mince rather than beef. First time we ever used lamb mince and it was lovely reallly changed the flavors.

Looks tasty :) good veg

You've been cooking Cottage Pie with beef Shepherd's Pie is lamb :) you should try 50 50 lamb beef.

Nice hearty Sunday lunch for a dull September day.

Shank end of a leg of lamb cooked with chickpeas and tomatoes, then pulled off the bone.
Wholewheat couscous with sultanas, almonds, pumpkins seeds and lemon juice.
All served with some green beans.

Have just put some marinaded pork shoulder into the oven to cook until about 8.30. Should have some nice pulled pork :) have just taken some homemade cornbread out of the oven and later will make some mustard coleslaw and roasted veg to go with it. :)

Update: Cornbread not the most successful :( it tastes very bicarb-y even though I followed the recipe to the letter! Disappointing! Will have to cover it in pork and bbq sauce. Or just not have any!
