The **Now Eating** Thread

Chicken peas and carrotts.

The girls in the canteen always look at me like I'm mad when I ask for veg, they have to go and cook it from frozen.

Took my mum for a birthday lunch at the Waterside today. Had a really good meal, as usual :)

Starter for me was a tomato and lentil soup, served with some rustic bread.

And for main course, pulled pork served with potato cake, veg and apple fritters. Was so stuffed after this I couldn't stomach a dessert, though I did have a nice Appletini cocktail to cleanse my palate :D

Need a nap now!

How much was that if you don't mind me asking? I've always wondered how much it would cost to eat in a 3 star restaurant.

Well there were 3 of us. We each had 2 courses each and a soft drink. We also got a warm bread selection to share and I got a side of french fries with my main. Plus then 1 latte and 1 cocktail for dessert. It would have come to £76, but they were doing special promotion today, so we ended up getting £30 off the bill.

We all ate off the main menu though, due to the promotion. Theres also a lite bites menu (not that the potions are small mind you) that gives you 2 courses for £10.95 or 3 courses £12.95. Less things to choose from than the main menu, but still a reasonable number of choices. I tend to go for the more expensive menu, though my mum tends to go for the cheaper one.

Cheers, I don't know why but I was expecting at least £50 per person, £12.95 for 3 courses (I know it's not off the main menu) seems more than reasonable, 3 courses costs more from my local Havester :D

I assume given his location and the fact that he says he goes there regularly that it's not The Waterside in Bray we're referring to here!

Excuse the rubbish photo but I wanted to get started eating it ;) Homemade smoked mackerel fishcakes and sliced runner beans.
