**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

The driver caused huge performance regressions on RTX4000 series cards:

"DDU'd and installed 576.88. This is literally the opening scene on the street, max settings, PT enabled:

591.86: 74 fps with DLSS P and 2X FG, around 304W average GPU power draw

576.88: 118 fps with DLSS P and 2X FG, around 405W average GPU power draw"

Not just this driver, performance has steadily degraded with every new driver, although this depends on the game...

Kept going back to 581.89

But,but you will saved by DLSS4.5 where you can upscale from 720p to 4k with better image quality, right? That is what reddit keeps saying.

TBH,when I had an RTX3060TI I started to notice this too and stuck on an older driver.

Planned obsolescence is a thing with all tech, The evidence is there for everyone to see.

EDIT

More people getting the same results, 576.88 from July last year offering much better performance.

Shame there's no RE9 demo otherwise I would've tested that though I did some benchmarks hidden in the spoiler tags. I also did Shadow of the Tomb Raider but did not see anything out of the ordinary in all three driver versions so I'm leaning towards this being a problem that does not effect me or its specifically with RE9.

Edit: Cleaned up the post and As someone quoted me I went back to the Black Myth Wukong benchmark and ran it 2 times and it solved the min FPS at the start of the benchmark as I ran it of a HDD.

Windows 10, 13600K, 32GB 3600 C16 RAM, RTX 4070 12GB I used DDU and then installed each driver after each benchmark run.

This is specifically for 5000 series though so maybe 4000 series has been spared, My performance with a 5090 has been up and down with each driver release, Even some of the studios have bee hit and miss.

Lmao Nvidia has some explaining to do!

I just tried with the Studio 577.00 drivers from July '25 vs what I was using until now, 591.74 Studio and....
