Whether the reality was different than the perceptions, for me, I had tended to consider a GPU by Nvidia to be many things, but mainly stability, consistency and...............just working.
I had similar thoughts regarding an Intel CPU and board.
Recent events that I have noted have, for once, have made me a little wary of associating either Intel or Nvidia with the same levels of confidence that I once did.

My temperature seems to be stuck on 23c on the 5090, rolling back to older version. For a trillion $ company this is an absolute poop show!

Sadly seems par for the course these days, people doing it as a job without care. Windows updates and updates for several other professional applications have increasingly deteriorated in quality in recent years.

As I work in the IT enterprise environment, you are on point - professional hardware items we buy for tens of thousands of pounds are full of software bugs that they all the time patch. Sometimes they release new patch fixing serious security bugs that we need to patch asap just to learn it completely breaks some core functionality and then one has to decide - serious vulnerabilities or stability... It's not a choice I ever wanted to take and yet it happens all the time.

I'm really getting fed up with Nvidia and their sloppy quality control lately, and yet they have the balls to charge thousands for the hardware which they couldn't get right with its poor quality control, at least early on. And now the drivers, which have been buggy as hell for so many people, especially 5000 series owners. Thankfully on my 4090 they've been playing nicely so far, but Nvidia needs a massive kick up the ass, because for a company as large as theirs these issues are getting ridiculous.

Not sure if I have this temp bug though I probably do, but I don't put my system to sleep even though it runs 24/7 (I just turn my screens off). This is a pretty serious bug as it could cause systems to overheat. I have iCue to adjust my system fans depending on the GPU temp because it's only when I game that the system is going to get warm pretty quickly, plus the GPU temps for me ramp up far slower than the CPU so it results in a smoother and easier on the ears fan speed increases/decreases. So if the GPU temp remains static, then this is going to cause my whole system to run far too warm.

I'm considering moving back to Nvidia, is it a bad idea?

Last time I upgraded to the latest AMD drivers I started to crash in Warzone, so I don't think much to AMD drivers.

Have Nvidia updated the control panel yet?

No. It's fine.

You can use the Nvidia App or the Classic Control Panel.

Getting more and more silly now with drivers. Nvidia really has given up it seems. (I know J2C video but he does make it clear how bad the temperature monitoring issue is now in the drivers).
