**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Never had a black screen wh3n installing this new driver but crysis still DOESNT work come on nvidia sort this out..

remaster works original wont even open.these cards are fuber without good driver support which to say is cack..

I don't know if it's in relation to the driver problems of late, but I keep getting encoder crashes in OBS.

I might roll back to a previous driver/or two. Does anyone know what the most recent (stable) driver is?

I feel a bit stupid now.

Nothing works...except tapping in my pin :)
Are you on a dual (or more) monitor setup? I've had that exact same problem on my 5070 build - but swapped to a single display with it and it's no longer a problem at all.

I've found drivers really wobbly recently - but as soon as I just swap to a single display it's like all of the Nvidia issues disappear.

Obviously it would be awful, but a part of me wonders now AMD have got a good market share of CPUs whether they are spiking the 5000 series. It would kinda be delicious, but I guess they'd get found out eventually.

That would just be the same behavior they accused Nvidia of for years and if that happened I would hope they'd get dragged over the coals for it.

Would be curious to see if there is an correlation, most of the people I know with 5000 series GPUs and having issues have AMD CPUs but that is kind of a given as they've mostly CPUs like the 7800X3D, etc.

With my 4080 Super and 14700K I've had practically no problems at all aside from one instance of stalling on a black screen when installing one driver version.

Tried it with DSR 2880p and it's pulling 500W+ even with the undervolt so I guess i should cap the FPS :p

It is AMD doing it!!

Nvidia drivers are and always have been rock solid! :p

Remind me to tell myself that 15 years or so ago when I had to write a guide on disabling powermizer on Nvidia laptops because it caused horrendous DPC spikes which caused all manner of sound and video stutter and glitching. :D

Nvidia drivers were traditionally better than AMD, but, with a few exceptions, I think they're much of a parity these days, having regularly used system with both these days, Nvidia has deteriorated whilst AMD has put in work. Theyve kinda met in the upper middle; but whilst AMD is generally improving, Nvidia still seems to be on the way down.

Only way (eventually) is up, right? :D

There's something really weird with the 5090 .crysis works now yippee.but crysis 2 doesn't it has the red mesh now .looks like the driver hunt continues for a decent driver .here's hoping they sort this out ..

You get a 5090, you naturally get the urge to check it can run crysis right? :p
I suppose so! ;) I'm just a muppet and play the same games that didn't really need a 4090 in the first place, yet i still went ahead and told myself I need a 5090 :D

Maybe I will buy a AAA game that requires it to hit 100+fps in the coming 18 months.... just maybe.

Not a muppet. Just absolutely clueless :D
DOHHHH :D

I am an absolutely clueless nerd, so did make a spreadsheet with various benchmark data to compare my 4090 to the 5090 (and various undervolt profiles). That was quite fun in a strange way. I did boot up CP2077, turned on all the snazzy features and MFG, then closed it and went back to my multiplayer shooters...

Anyway... back on topic. I don't want to speak too soon, but i've been pretty luck with the drivers. No major issues so far. I think a few of my very early issues where undervolt related and nothing more sinister.
