**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

The only annoyance is that NVApp puts a little icon in the system tray which you cannot stop from happening without the setting being turned off in NVCPL, which if you uninstall because it's now legacy.... yeah.

I am guessing no way to use something like NVCleaninstall or do so manually to remove bloat like we did in standard drivers?

I would remove everything but drivers in the og drivers. Now it is not clear how to do this.

It is clear, you click custom on the driver installer and just tick the drivers. There is no additional bloat.

You said that about og drivers also. Yet when you extract them they have telemetry etc in it which you cannot untick in custom. Lol

Or you can use things like nextdns and just have all the telemetry blocked (not just Nvidia ones) from sending any data out. Them working take pretty much no resources so it's just a matter of privacy, and then proper network filtering (or at least DNS filtering) will solve it much better than fighting with system/app settings.

Can't you just turn it off from loading in windows task manager? It lists all auto start apps, including Nvidia app, where you can just turn off auto start of them.

It's not in there, my Windows is supremely trimmed down and under control, this is something NVApp is manually enabling which NVCPL had a toggle for but NVApp does not yet.

Just saw this on Guru3D

610.47 testing was abandoned after significant driver issues manifested during early system stability and compatibility runs on work Series 40 (40x0) GPU and Series 50 (50x0) GPU test benches along with significant regressions to performance metrics and framepacing in number of games across all supported GPU architectures. See '610.47 Testing' section for more details.

Smooth motion dont work properly in all games after i installed last version of driver(610.47) i have shatters and lags, before it works

A:
We have a fix for this in our next driver release

And yet, no issues here
That could explain why I have noticed horrible frame pacing and input latency spikes in WoW recently. I thought Blizz messed up something in the engine but it might as well be those new drivers indeed.

I use a GSYNC-compatible monitor, and I've enabled smooth motion in The Division 2, where it does not support DLSS or frame gen at all. So far, it's been great on 610.47. No latency or stability issues at all so far with my 4090, but it could depend on the game.

And Guild Wars 2 smooth motion turned into drunken vaseline smeared screen as well, along with huge latency spikes like in WoW. None of that was a problem on previous drivers. Maybe those are the perks of DLSS 5! ;D Seems indeed those drivers are a complete mess, time to revert back after all! :P

Edit: Moving back to previous drivers and all issues vanished instantly. Thanks Nvidia :)
