Looks like 616.92 brings no gaming fixes at all, so unfortunately the problems introduced with the 616.xx branch are still not fully addressed.
NVIDIA officially lists Assassin’s Creed Shadows as a known issue (6685219), along with Judgment/Lost Judgment/Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. failing to launch.
Regarding GTA V Enhanced, I’ve seen that mentioned as well.
There are also user reports of crashes with other games that NVIDIA currently does not list as confirmed issues, including Crimson Desert and The Witcher 3 DX12. So the official known-issues list probably shouldn't be taken as a complete list of every game that may be having problems with this driver branch.
Crimson Desert in particular seems interesting, as there are several reports of crashes appearing after installing 616.56 and disappearing again after rolling back to 610.88.
AC Shadows is the one I can personally confirm. I was getting random CTDs on 616.56, often around fast travelling. Rolling back to 610.88 completely solved it for me, and I've been running that driver without those crashes since.
What is particularly telling is that NVIDIA now specifically describes the AC Shadows issue as occurring “after updating to driver 616.56.” So at least that one is clearly acknowledged as a regression introduced with this branch.
For now 616.92 gives me no reason to move away from 610.88. Hopefully NVIDIA is already working through the other reports as well and we'll see some actual gaming fixes in the next driver or hotfix.
