**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Im fitting my 5090 FE today !,
what will be the best drivers to install so as to get a stable system ?,
if it helps, im running windows 11 pro on a Ryzen 7800X3D im gonna DDU the AMD drivers so i can just fit the 5090 to test it works, then will do a clean install as have some upgraded storage to fit also

Further to my post saying that I was irritating 153 driver errors I’m pleased to say that a fresh windows install seems to have fixed it.

Worth a punt if you’re struggling.

I wasn't aware PhysX was still used in modern games. I wish there was more interaction with the environments, destructible environments is always welcome too. I hate it when I fire a rocket launcher at a wall and it's still in one piece as if nothing happened lol.
It's a very toned down version to run on CPUs and consoles which is why its nothing impressive like the old GPU PhysX. Most modern games especially UE5 stuff are very static.

I've gone down a bit of a driver test the last week or so. Long story short I ended up going back to 580.97. Flawless for all my needs and games at the mo. (I have a very similar rig to you btw).

@wunkley

I actually found the Vulkans to perform better than the latest ones :) ( frame rate wise )

Same as this guy for BF6

Has anyone else encountered the dxgi error_device_removed on more recent drivers? It happens after a few hours in certain titles. (Lou2, ghost of t, kcd1)

I know it’s a driver issue as I don’t encounter it with a 6 mo old driver version, but at this point I don’t want to roll back anymore.

Just put the latest on.

I've used the latest releases on my 5090FE since getting it without any serious issues. Odd black screen on install here and there but in the main absolutely fine.

Thanks guys, i installed 591.44 To get the 5090 fe running without much issue, after using ddu to get rid of the amd stuff, managed to play cod modern warfare after a few updates and restarts to the game,
Will use 591.44 when i clean install tomorrow, if i start getting into problems I’ll go back to 580.97 as wunkley suggested :)

Went back to the Vulkans. Sure these have all the latest fixes but in Battlefield 6, the Vukans perform a lot better :cool:
