the nVidia waiting game

Come on now, let's be honest, in real world performance you're not going to notice the difference between them drives, the corsair will do the job just fine, sure massive write speed may help when installing crap, but how often do you do that. 120 write speeds and above is perfectly fine.

I had terrible issues with partitions being lost after heavy writing to my indilinx based Vertex's and the problem was quite prevalent with other drives also.
What you say about real world performance is correct in terms of app loading etc, but the main issue for storage for me is reliability and that's where the x25-m wins as no one likes losing their data.

The C300 should be pretty good in that department also, and the Vertex sandforce based drives should be good as the sandforce controller seems particularly advanced.

well the most major thing that will be written on to it will be Win7 lol.

after that its going to be what game im playing at the time and stuff like VLC player :-P

Took me three installs to get windows 7 on the GF's machine. I had 3 vertex's at the time and each one had the same problem. RMA'd them and just stuck with my x25-m since.

Maybe I was unlucky but I can't stress this enough... save your self the headache and get an Indilinx alternative that is proven to be reliable.

for the sake of £20 i think ill just order it all from OCuk :P nice one big bundle to unwrap as a very special present to MEEEE!!!
