Now with Steam, GFWL and Origin support!

This is a test run to see how well it works though I can already see several problems, the most glaring of which is the need to refresh the page for the lists to show. Ideally something like this should be run from a database but I can't find anywhere online that'll host one for free. If you do know of one then let me know (I'm too stingey to pay :p)

Any tips, tricks, criticisms and complaints are welcome.

Also, using this method I will now be able to include more games than those supported by either Steam or GFWL. If you want a game added, just post here, let me know the name and how you find people online in it :)

There are some basic instructions after the jump but nothing too complicated. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll try and fix them as soon as I can.

The games which people can associate their name with are:

Steamworks:

Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Team Fortress 2
Counter Strike: Source
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Killing Floor
Worms Reloaded
Civilisation V
Portal 2
Dawn of War 2: Retribution
Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West
Dead Island
Supreme Commander 2
Napoleon Total War
Empire Total War
Shogun 2 Total War

GFWL:

Bioshock 2
Dawn of War 2
Grand Theft Auto IV
F1 2010
F1 2011
Dirt 2
Dirt 3

Origin:

Battlefield 3

Other:

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Call of Duty: World at War
Borderlands
Terraria

Once you've added yourself be sure to add a few people from the list to your own friends list :)

Any other games which you feel need adding to the list just give me a shout and I'll sort it out.

This list is merely an amendment to others work so thanks is due to FrenchTart (the poster formerly known as Aekeron) and Z0mb1e for laying the groundwork.

I hope you'll find this useful,
Antar.

cHk4 - currently TF2 and MW2, however BF:BC2 next year!

It's self service cHk4, click the link in the first post and add yourself to the list :)

Also, I've updated the list to include MW2 and Dirt 2 and I'll change the op to reflect this.

Unfortunately I've just realised one of the limitations using googledocs will have and that is that I've only got room for maybe another 4 games....

For now it will suffice and hopefully I'll be able to implement other plans which will eventually overcome this limitation.

I think it could just be you man, it seems to be working on this end and several people have successfully used it so far (Yes, even Kearney). What sort of issues are you having?

If you're using Opera to view it make sure you have the latest update as it can be a bit wonky in opera.

Also, the next step I intended to take with this would be a dedicated web-page (mainly just for my own practice as I've never made a web-page before and I want to see how it's done :o ) but that won't be happening until the Summer due to Uni and work commitments :)

I don't know, there's a lot of sticky things there already. Besides, I have to interact with this on a daily basis and I hate touching sticky things (unless said sticky things are toffees, mmmm... toffee)

There's no harm in asking, RTM it and ask for it to be sticked if you want :)

I've never had a sticky thread before, I wonder what it's like.

Updated my games, not sure who put me on there though. My accountID is incorrect but do you really need it?

You put yourself on there :D

All I've done is used the pre-existing data from FrenchTart's (Previously known as Aekeron) New and Improved Left 4 Dead Steam Names Thread and z0mb1e's porting of that to googledocs and mererly presented it slightly differently in order to make it easier for people to add friends from OcUK relative to the games they play :)

With regards to the account id, it's probably not needed so long as you have a link to your steam profile. Either the account id or the steam profile link are enough to add people with but one or the other is required, the steam name is too fluid to be of any use adding friends and is really only useful when used to identify people in-game.

Edit: Oh, I realise now what you mean, I may have used you as a test subject to see if the spreadsheet actually worked or not and neglected to then remove the data I had inputted, sorry.

Ah, that would explain why you didn't have 'y' under the Dirt 2 heading, I thought I was being helpful and filling it in for you :o

Yeah, only for Dirt 2 at the moment but at some point in the summer I intend to replace this with a different project which should hopefully be more robust. I'm reluctant to start adding all the GFWL games to this in it's current form though as I fear it may get messier than it already is. Of course, I could always make a second document based on the same layout, which may not be a bad thing come to think of it with more multiplayer games starting to use GFWL such as the forthcoming Bioshock 2.

Something's a bit weird with the sheet. The number in the # column is different in the Dirt2 sheet to the number on the sheet1. It's off by 1 in all cases I think.

Fixed it, thanks. Couldn't figure out how to extend a range on googledocs, tried clicking and dragging like in excel but no joy which led me to filling in the range manually and hence the mistake.

Added myself last night, looking for players for MW2 and L4D2 so if anyone wants to play just add me.

Maybe add CoD World at War too for zombie mode plus other MP stuff in it.

Nice work though, good organised info.:)

Will do :)

!!!SHINEY NEW GFWL OcUK LIST!!!

Whether it will be useful or not now is another matter but it only took a few minutes to knock up and can't do any harm.

Games currently on the list:

Bioshock 2
DOW 2
GTA IV

Any other games which you feel need adding to the list just give me a shout and I'll sort it out.

I'm unsure whether to put Dirt 2 on here or not as it is already on the other list and people have been using that so will probably be easier to leave that where it is.

@ Sycho, I'll get COD:WAW added to the Steam list shortly :)
