The OcUK Men of Honour 2009

^^ Here we go again.

I thought we just deleted & sussed the bad clouds from these kind of threads.

I will say Congratulations to All even to Fox who I think is a ****. :D
My MOH still means Loads to me & I am lucky enough to know Exactly why I got mine from the man himself.
If yours means half of what mine does to me then I Welcome you to the fold with Open arms. yes yes even Fox. :p

Perhaps I could have phrased it differently, but my point stands.

I feel strongly that this 'Men of Honour' award is divisive and unnecessary. It obviously devalues the contributions that all of the other members make on a daily basis, and the criteria used to select the recipients is a mystery to me, and I am sure, most other people.
Would it surprise you to know that I personally short-listed you?

As a bystander this reads more of someone who is a little disgruntled that they were not included. Its not something I really wanna get into a weeing battle about, more of a heads up and just my tupence worth, as I see it. :)

/leaves thread.

I'll give you your dummy back as soon as you stop whining. :)

From what I've seen in my short time here the criteria for awarding MOH is set by the forum moderators and owner and is awarded to the poster who they feel has contributed most and helped out with regard to the running of the forums.

In the case of Fox I'd assume it's down to his opinions (whether you like them or not) and the help and advice he's given many people in the motors section of the Forums.

Others contribute mainly in specific sections such as hardware, CPU's etc etc and others again (Gilly) have been awarded this due to their commitment and time spent making this a family oriented, friendly and helpful place. We've all got area's of speciality and I certainly dont feel any of my contributions / posts are devalued in any way.

Well I must confess that I was surprised that Fox got MOH, 'Marmite' character indeed, I'm certainly not a fan, but then I never really browse or take part in the Motor section otherwise I may think differently of his character, I guess with the forum so full of different personality's there's always going to be a few individuals you don't get along with, I'm sure I'm not at the top of everybody's Christmas list :p

It would actually, for a number of reasons; while I try to help where I can there are far more deserving people than me, I can be very emotional in what I post, I do not suffer fools gladly and as a consequence am skating on thin ice as far as the Mods go a lot of the time.

A spade is a spade and I'll say what I think. I'm not sure you'd want me as a MoH for those reasons.

Where as in my case it's because I'm an utter ******* :D

Simple. You have made a considerable contribution to the forums over the years, most of it being positive.

MoH's don't have to be "star pupils" but they must have played a significant role in the forums' success.
