The OcUK Powerlifting Totals

I tick my phone in one of the supplied paper cups and it stands up.

One of the resident SnC coaches filmed my 90kg jerk, but that's it. I wouldn't ask anybody to film me, so use the cup method unless there's a hardbody in the frame...

No videos
;)

Good work SPW! It might be worth sandbagging your bench attempt tomorrow, if it gets much higher then you'll have to increase your squat ;)

In terms of validating a lift (if we were to go down that road) the angle and quality of the video doesn't really matter. Seeing the plates go through the whole ROM would be sufficient.

I'm all for giving the league a revamp. I'll always be getting videos of my PBs.

LOL & people wonder why i don't post actively! Just causes issues time and time again!

I think the last 3 times I've posted I've had similar replies from similar people i get your side, i do honestly, i just cant be bothered arguing id rather just train and report back - if people don't believe what i achieve in the gym that's up to them. - Ill take it as a compliment.

Just remove me from the list makes no odds to me ill still post when i can but omit any lifts, myself and the guys i train with know what i have done in the past & where i am currently with my training, to me that's where it counts not on a forum.

9 times out of ten when i squat its box squats to below parallel - the 240 squat was not raw it was with wraps ( i have done SM comps in the past i am aware of what counts as depth) - I don't squat over 180 without wraps - infact i dont think i could lol - the guys your talking about do it all raw and yes your right that is absolutely crazy! Very jealous of those lifts fairplay!

The guys i train with all deadlift over 280 some over 310! - so for me 245 dead-lift isnt that impressive at all.

For me it all depends on whats relative, if you train in a fitness 1st gym with people who aim towards fitness than strength then yes the lifts I've posted are not to bad, if you train in a SM or PL gym then they are average.

My mate posted on here with his lifts as i suggested he should, you guys reacted the same towards him, his totals are 740 he was suited and booted mind but still he added that into each lift (bench shirt etc)... i think as i said it all depends on the circles you train in. As 740 total put him 5th in our group with me being 7th with my total! :(

Anyway - as i said take me off the list - I'm not active enough to warrent being on the list - no hard feelings and i do wish you all the best with your lifts going fwd :) I wont say ill try and post more regular as i always say that then forget!

Take is easy lads.

JC, unless all the guys you are training with at sub 90kg (with over 700kg totals I doubt it) then I don't see how you can say your lifts aren't impressive in your circle. I don't compare myself against those in different weight categories, it's a pointless endeavour.

You can't squat over 180 without wraps? Whys that?

I personally couldn't give a rats butt about vids for proof of lifts. As long as I can see videos of the people who want to post them then I'm happy.

I think its a SM mentality - as in SM was novice/interm thats it - no weight catogary..

Half the reason i sacked it off - not fair me V a 25 stone guy

Never tried - soon as i get 180 i always wrap 200 with wraps feels easier than 180 without for me!

Maybe not yearly, but i think it's unfair that my lifts are still on there, considering i've not even stepped into a gym in nearly half a year, and would probably struggle to deadlift what i was benching back then.

I still lift, admitedly I haven'd had much enthusiasm for it until the last few months. I don't think that it's unfair that lifts that might not be current remain, it doesn't devalue them in anyway in my eyes.

Likewise. That said it probably looks a bit suspicious for me to return to defend the legue table as it stands! but I just happened to have a nosey in here today!

Ultimately a PB is a PB and it doesn't make a great deal of difference to me whether or not it's included or excluded from an internet forum lifting table.

JC, sorry if i have missed it in a previous post, but is there a reason why you would not want to get/post a video?

Hi mate, main reason is when the guys I'm training with are lifting 60-80kg more i feel a bit of a **** recording my lifts when they dont bother with thiers, thats all it boils down too really.

One does 280x5 as a warm up to his 300 dead... im not going to record me on 250x1 just feels wrong lol..

Ive said many times before ill get some vids... im sure i have a vid on utube somewhere of being do a 200x1 squat no problem at all and a 240 dead... But that was from maybe 18 months back now? Let me see if i can find it.... If i had a new PB id post it but not come close due to the injury the last 18 months or so thats all like - My dead is gona get smashed soon - but done think ill get over 230 squat again anytime soon

thats fair enough, as a few others have pointed out though, your 240 squat and 250 deadlift is a hell of a lot more impressive then your mates doing 300kg deads when they weigh more then twice what you do!!

Its a matter of perspective and i guess yours might be a bit scewed because you train with huge guys, you see your lifts as puney. Well there not, they are really very impressive!

Fair game.

Just stick the camera on the floor or something one day and record it, shouldn't feel ashamed on doing so, if they ask just say for personal benefit? :) Otherwise, up to you at the end of the day

I don't see the problem with keeping old lifts, a PB is a PB. Regular members know who's who anyway if they really care. Similarly I don't really mind vids or no vids, unless something ridiculous gets claimed that is! And it that case it would probably be video'd anyway.

A PB is a PB ultimately. IF you're still a regular poster (like oddjob) who has posted some great PBs then it's something to strive for in the future.

Bolt has run 100m in under 9.7 - however in 20 years time he won't be able to - it'll still be a PB though.

I'm happy to have another entry at my current weight - but I kinda like having my old weight and totals there as it gives me a target at a lighter weight to try and achieve the same. :)

Completely, just like my DL pb is 30kg more than my most recent best.
Though in my gym it is actually set to what I lifted recently as they only put up stuff that someone can verify.
My 110kg axle over head wasn't allowed on the board as I was training alone. So the next week I did it again :P

Yeah a pb is whatever you want to use as your pb, if you want to use your all time best then cool, if you have been out of training for a few years and want a picture of where you are now then great.

Me personally I will try and set my PB's again early next year to give myself some targets to beat, I am not fused if they go down to much, I want to know my current best (within the last 6 months or so).
