People should stop whining, CFW isn't illegal and enhances the PSP into so much more.
Anyway, not everybody wants to use it for illegal means, I mean it's not exactly a bad thing to copy your UMD game onto a memory stick for faster loading times and better battery life.
Copying UMD to memorystick os no justification tbh, but anyway. Not complaining, just saying the guide will just cause arguements I suspect. I will still read it if/when it gets posted. It's a grey area/fine line, which is why it will be a problem.

There's already threads on how to Jailbreak and unlock the iPhone, and I can't see the difference between that or this.
I've no intention of promoting piracy or telling people where to download or play pirate copies.
Yeah the moral highground people will likely get into a hissy fit, shame really.
Though I believe V1N wants to have his UMD collection on his PSP via memory, which is fair enough, isn't it legal to make backups anyway? (kinda a similar thing)

No difference in my mind (I agree with you!!) They should not really have allowed all the iPhone jailbreaking stuff to go on in the Apple sections on as it creates the grey area I speak off!!!

I believe you are NOT ALLOWED to copy any game mediums to other formats full stop. (and all this crap about pirating/backing up games you own is crap, it was some sort of legal loophole a long time ago in USA law (I think) and has since then been changed DCMA?)

well, there is a difference actually. its not against the law to use a phone on another network. all you do by doing so is void your warranty. jailbreaking im not so sure about, but is there a way of using a jailbroken iphone to run illegal software like there is a console or handheld with custom firmware?
know one here is talking about illegal software though, just enhancing there psp's.
we can run third party apps, and change all sorts of stuff for the themes, sony dont seem to mind.

no, your talking about custom firmware which is illegal lol. again i dont know the specifics of how jailbreaking the iphone works but even so, there's nothing you could actually pirate and get for free by jailbreaking it as far as i know.
Jailbreaking iPhone. Run "useful" apps and emulators etc
CFW PSP Run "useful" apps and emulators.
Only difference I see is, in the real world, iPhone owners probably 80% apps 20% emu/rom, PSP 80% emu/rom 20% "apps".

Do you have any links proving the illegal status of CFW?
Reading my PSPs guarantee it states my warranty will be voided by using unauthorised software. That's all as far as I know.
As I said I've no intention of posting how to pirate games or run emulators.
