Got to love the holier than thou attitude in this thread especially from james.miller
People do pirate games. Get over it.
People do run CFW to do other things than pirate games. Get used to it.
People often use media in ways the corporations don't want the to, such as ripping CD's. So what?
The problem here is the media companies want to control the way we have acces to media that we the end user have
purchased legally.
Pointless argument as the two sides on these forums will never agree. Never the twain shall meet as they say.
You're probably quite right too.
I guess in my mind, I can see nothing wrong with purchasing a UMD game, taking it home, and copying it to my own memory stick, and leaving the game on the shelf, in the same way as I have no problems in buying CDs, and ripping them to my PC, and installing a copy in my MP3 player/PSP.
What I do in my mind may not agree with what the law says is legal, but so far as I'm concerned, if I buy the game/cd, then simply installing it to HDD/memory stick isn't a bad thing. Nowhere near as bad as downloading it, and not paying for it at all.
I don't see a problem with that... in fact, to me, DRM should be illegal, stopping people playing their purchased stuff where they want... but that's another issue
Anyway, no point going on about it, I can see both points, and I've made mine.
Nice to see btw. that some companies are trying to help out with using media in different ways. Some of the blurays I have here have "digital copy" disks in there, which is designed to be copied onto the PC. It's nice to see the Playstation Network putting some full games up, so no disk is required. I certainly paid the full £25 for GT5p, and would do so again, for the convenience of being able to play it straight off the HDD with no disk.
Anyway, sorry, enough of this, I look forward to seeing the OcUK PSP CFW guide, although I wouldn't be surprised if orderoftheflame is having second thoughts now
Vin.
