The OCUK Whisky (and Whiskey) review thread

re 15 and 16 my sample was from an older version, it appears they have changed the % and cost of the newer one (both up). I'm also surprised at the cost of either of them. Either it's the shipping and import duty skewing things. It's good but I wouldn't pay that much for it tbh.

Guess the interesting whisky dram #2 (20 questions)

10. Is it from Fiji? No (do they have a distillery?) *apparently they do but from what I could tell from a quick search it does gin and rum rather than whisky, with sugar cane as the source.

19. Is it a malt? Yes
20. Is it a lark? No. Lovely distillery though. We had a very happy afternoon in their bar not so long ago before the world went to cack.

ha ha we must be close

malt whiskey from hobart, around 44%, not lark, has the place in the name...

is it made to take on the flavour of some other type of alcohol? Like sherry cask, bourbon cask, rum cask, port finish, sherry, medeira, wine, beer, etc etc.

Must admit, I'm stumped. There are only 2 other distilleries in Hobart aside from Devil's Distillery (Hobart) and Lark.

Battery Point distillery fits the place in the name criteria, but is too new to have released any whisky yet. 7k Distillery have 2 malts, but both are over the 44% criteria.

I was going to guess Sullivan's cove but apparently that isn't in Hobart any more so can't be that. So, Heartwood maybe?

Lockdown has a lot to answer for when a Saturday night consists of guessing what whisky someone else was drinking days ago!
