*** The official 2018 MacBook Pro thread (it has six cores and everything!) ***

I just ordered... top spec 6-core with 4.9 boost, 32gb ram, 2tb ssd

I couldn’t justify the 4tb... that price is bonkers

Precision is just a standard or feature set that it has to have in order to meet the label. The trackpads themselves can be made by anyone with any size, material etc. So some Precision trackpads will be better than others.

The Dell one is ok but the SB2 one I have is loads better
I hate the dell trackpads... they’re so over sensitive and their palm rejection is terrible.

The SB trackpads are some of the best of a windows laptop... the one on my Razer is pretty good too... but many many windows based trackpads are really poor and have massive lag.

Still nothing can hold a candle to Mac trackpad.

I used BetterTouchTool on OSX and actually that is one of the features I miss the most (and I had three finger click in Chrome to close a tab)

Yes you can do that on chrome using an extension (before you even posted your original question I was looking for a solution too) works great

I don’t use chrome, although I’m sure Firefox may have an extension. That’s another thing though, no safari on Windows to sync favourites, continuity etc. God there’s just so many little things.

Safari is rubbish anyway, much prefer Chrome or FF.
Both of those do synchronization with mobile/desktop stuff.
So does Safari & you will get much worse battery life with Chrome or Firefox.

Safari is quick too, I quite like it.

I find safari great. I don’t use chrome out of principle and theres no need to use Firefox when safari already does everything.
What principal?

Chrome is better imo
In what way though?

Safari renders faster and is less resource hungry... chrome is a cup and ram behemoth.

Safari on mac is great. Chrome is slightly better but the only reason I don't use safari is because the developer experience on chrome is much better than safari.

The trackpad, MacOS and iOS integration are the only things making me still consider a MBP. I'm not sure they're worth the £1k apple tax when I can just get a windows laptop and put the change towards some new toys.

Personally I prefer chrome, but I use safari when im not connected to power. I've also recently ditched Chrome on my iPhone and haven't missed it.
