Yeah I found some funky stuff restoring the bios settings from USB this time round, but fan profiles are fine. I think from now on I will just restore fan profiles and do an optimised defaults after any BIOS update then manually put settings back. The funky stuff was settings being set to options I'd never have chosen like OS mode under boot being set to Other when it's always been "Windows 10", Onboard LAN was disabled too...

Earth, for now
Mine just would not boot without a warning that my DDR sticks were in the wrong slots or their settings were wrong. Neither applied but the only option was to shut down. Not possible to enter the BIOS, shutdown the only option. I had to reset the CMOS (didn't need Q Flash) and then manually set everything up.
IIRC it was part way through the BIOS revisions for the Z390 Master that they changed it where you would no longer be able to restore previous version BIOS settings AND it would automatically set optimised BIOS default settings on one of its reboots following an update. That board had dual BIOS's, with dipswitches as well.
I'm guessing that they had enough complaints / concerns from people to bring in those changes. That is what surprised me to note when you first mentioned of restoring your BIOS settings, I automatically didn't think of trying that due to the Z390 changes noted.
Back to manual input from now and restore the fan profile only.

We have colors!

Looks lovely! Good effort there.

Are those the Lian Li fans? If so, what are they like @ 600-900RPM, acoustically? I'm currently using 6x NF-A14 @ 700 RPM, which are entirely silent - also no whining, clicking or variable sounds. I would love a little more illumiunation though :D

anyone having massive issues getting over 3600mhz ram speeds?
mainly with msi boards?
I have not had any problems. I am using 3200mhz team group b-die, the 8 pack ram, and all i did was put speed up to 4000mhz with 18 timings and 1.36v at it just runs great. didnt change anything else, thats on the msi tomahawk. I have not tried anything faster as I was happy with that speed. also had speed of 5.2 on 2 cores with 5.1 on next 2 and 5.0 on last 2 @1.34v. this cpu runs very cool but i am under wc loop. very pleased so far but i must say i changed from 5800x to this cpu and it is not as fast, its on par in some games but below in others. Also when I do cpu bench it comes uo with this warning "CPU throttled at 94% by Windows." so dont know if thats a bug or if its holding cpu back...any ideas?

Got my second £25 from "Benamic Unlimited Company" today (£25 per review of ASUS product), though no sign of the £100 for the Z690 motherboard/CPU deal.

Nice, got my £60 cashback from the similar MSI promotion the other day, also got a £27 steam wallet voucher on registering the board too.

Nearly finish tweaking the Alderlake setup and it's flying!

5.6GHz on ST stuff and 5.3GHz in gaming with DDR5 running at 6000C32 T1 all nicely stable, just done some quick testing and I nearly get around 200fps with peaks of well over 200 + in BF2042 and 180 - 240fps in Halo.

Just need to get the bench all setup now.

I have two lemons, SP 83 and 82 respectively.

I'm going to order one more and see where that ends up, I am hoping to find a SP95+ then I should be able to run 5.7 without the need for so much more voltage.

Lovely choice of board, I run the same one. Id recommend the 0811 BIOS if you have not upgraded all ready.

The only gripe with it is I have had to remove my active backplate on the 3090, that said it hasn't made that much of a difference at most it's around 8-10c difference.

Also, I have been testing running 6000 / 6200 CL32 T1 and it brings huge performance increases but it's a real juggling at moment to stabilize Samsung.

My daily at the moment is 6000 C32 1T, 6200 / 6400 / 6600 profiles need a bit more work which I am doing on the Apex.
