Predator looks to be a slow character, primarily for melee and long range attack with long reload time.
Marine will be rapid fire long range (well guns and grenade launchers doing a lot of damage), also they will have a motion sensor to detect Predators and Aliens.
Alien must have speed and only have a melee attack.
I'm sure it will have a good balance.

To get me in the mood I just watched Aliens, even more desperate for the game now!

lol you didn't seriously think 3-way meant it was limited to 3 players total did you?
the old AvP 2 on PC had 16 players, but most of the multiplayer talk seemed more akin to L4D type multiplayer, therefore I was hoping that at least we would have the option of a 9 year old game and not be limited to smaller/co-op style.. reading through the thread it seems others have concerns over the games direction so it would be handy to know solid details.
I'd say 6x4x2 or 5x4x3 Marine/Alien/Predator
I'm getting pretty psyched for this game already... there's something about the franchise that just makes it an awesome FPS experience. I couldn't even play Marine properly in the first game, too scary 
I'm looking forward to hanging on the ceilings as Alien as friends walk underneath.
My only hope is that the levels are appropriately dark, and that flashlights actually illuminate where people point them (instead of ala Left 4 Dead 2 where it's purely a client-side kludge).
