*** The official Apple Watch Series 9, 10 (and Ultra 2) thread (it has double tap and everything!) ***

Have any Ultra owners (first edition) noticed a massive decrease in battery performance since the latest watch OS?

It can’t be a coincidence!

Not just Ultra 1 owners, it’s being reported all over the internet that WatchOS 10 has crippled some watches when it comes to battery.

My S4 barely lasts a day now. Although the latest software update has improved things slightly.

I bought the unfashionable S9 steel model and I’m impressed by the battery life (even after the last update). The announcement said 18 hour battery life but I’m still at 50% when I take it off at the end of the day. And that’s with the display always on and my kids constantly demanding to see the Snoopy watch face. :p

I’ve been using StepsApp to add the steps complication to the watch face but I’ve seen a lot of people mention Pedometer++.
Does it have any benefits over StepsApp? I’ve read that it uses its own algorithm to count steps instead of matching what the watch itself is counting.

Impressed with my Ultra 2 - last charged it Friday morning, went off on a 500 mile round trip over the weekend with 3 hikes (a few hours combined), & a wild swim in the sea, never took the watch off once, sometimes when swimming & on parts of the beach I was well away from my phone so it was on 4G mode for a while…….got to Sunday night now with 4% left, can’t really ask for more than that considering how active a weekend I had - good battery life! & its tracked all my activities over the weekend, as well as sleep tracking etc

well, I took the plunge and upgraded from an Apple watch 7 45mm ss lte to the Ultra 2. What an upgrade in battery life, the screen is amazing and overall performance im loving it. It is a bit of a chunky monkey though. i got the Alpine loop. i did go into my local store to check out the bands for me the alpine was better., i did look at the trail loop, but it didn't feel as premium as the Alpine one to me at least. The wife is loving my old series 7 apple watch, her first apple watch.

I thought instead of making a new thread I’d post in here.

I am wanting to purchase an Apple Watch. I’ve never had one before and the sole main reason for wanting to purchase is to monitor heart/fitness.

What would be the recommendation here? An SE,8/9? Ultra is over kill?

I’m rather confused by it all.

not all of the watches have all of the features. As has been suggested get a 7 or an 8 the ses are missing some of the features. ect
