I have to say, this is an interesting observation.

ESO Observations Show First Interstellar Asteroid is Like Nothing Seen Before

For the first time ever astronomers have studied an asteroid that has entered the Solar System from interstellar space. Observations from ESO’s Very Large Telescope in Chile and other observatories around the world show that this unique object was travelling through space for millions of years before its chance encounter with our star system. It appears to be a dark, reddish, highly-elongated rocky or high-metal-content object. The new results appear in the journal Nature on 20 November 2017.

Shame we can't intercept the thing. Would be very interesting to see just what it's made up of.

Heard rumours they were going to make a film on those books.
Sort of hope they do, but also hope they don't.
i hope they do, there was also a paper exploring options of sending a probe to it, that really needs to happen. ffs stick it on the useless SLS so it at least has one worthy flight.

Yep, I'd had a quick glance at that.

I'd like the film because books were so good, but the film (as per usual) most likely can't compete, so I'm hit & miss on the idea.
If bad, guess I can forget it exists & stick to the books :D

Bad conversions are annoying. But I don't get the people who say it wrecks the books. They're the same awesomeness regardless how bad a film might be.

If they do in the same style as Interstellar it'll be a great movie.

They really need to work on that trailer. It looked awful, I checked how long film was & thought no chance in hell I'd watch that, but.... It came into the shop, so I got it cheap, watched it & was impressed.
If along that films lines, could be worth it.

Hi chaps, I got a telescope for my son for Xmas and gave it a go last night. Fantastic view of the moon and it’s really piqued my interest and my son loved it, he was amazed.

This has prompted me to find out if anyone can recommend a decent camera I get to attach to the telescope as he really wants photos of what he finds. Also, I read it’s “easy” to spot the likes of Saturn, Jupiter and Mars? Is this people saying it’s easy who are experts or is it actually easy? I had a little look last night for them and not even sure what I was looking for!

Apologies if this is the wrong thread.

Have a look at videos on youtube. Plenty on there... eg: Connecting a DSLR camera to a telescope.

Looks incredible, thanks for sharing. I also like watching space webcams here and NASA TV. I've always been extremely fascinated by the stars and our universe, they're so magnificent, vast, and unknown.

Your welcome, The final frontier holds a myriad of mysteries & even though humanity won't learn them all I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun trying to. :D
