** The Official ASUS P5N-E SLI & Ultra 650i Thread **

Any one tried the new Beta bios 0607?

It's supposedly suppose to fix the multiplier issue with the 4300 CPU and I would imagine will also contain the errata fix for the Core 2 Duo's.

It's available for download from the asus ftp and www page.

Dunno, i cant be bothered do open my case up to plug a floppy in at the moment.

Can i use a flash drive?

Flash drive never worked for me so I use a CD and I used the risky EzFlash, but I never seen the in Windows Bios flash go wrong yet too.

Also whilst I'm posting here, how do I get stereo Mix to work? I cant get sound for Videos recorded in fraps because Stereo Mix dont work, I'm using the Realtek HD audio.

Does this mobo cope well with 2x 1gb stick and 2x 512mb sticks of the same ram (speed, latency, make model etc..)

Yes mine did

I had 2x1Gb Geil 667 and 2x512Mb Corsair XMS2 667

Ran fine and didnt affect my overclock

Only sold the corsair as i was skint :p

Ah, I'm thinking of getting another 1GB ram for Vista, seems you need 3Gb or more ram for a smooth experience in Vista.

Sorry if this has been covered i just skipped through some of the many pages.
Has anyone got the Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680 and 4gig of ram? more specifically crucial PC6400.
I am having some issues, each stick of ram works on its own and after an hour of 1 of mem test it comes back clear when i run one stick at a time, but when i put all 4 sticks in there i get 4k errors in under 3minutes.

I have updated everything BIOS, chipset all the drivers you can think of, but if i try and boot at 2.2v it starts to load windows and then says the kernel is missing or corrupt, if i remove one gig it will boot and run perfect.
Now, i can get 4gig to boot into windows but i must have the voltage lower something like 1.89v but if i do that i seem to get blue screens a LOT.

I have been through pretty much all voltages from 2.3 down to 1.89, it either doesn't post, half boots and then reboots constantly or loads windows and blue screens at random times. I have also had a fiddle with the timings with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? problem with the memory controller or some BIOS setttings, i am at a total loss now.

Almost forgot specs are
Q6600
Asus P5N
4gig of crucial PC6400
8800GTX
700w PSU

Did a quick flash this mornign to the 0608 bios and then rushed off to work :)

But from what I saw there was more voltage options available and memory speed control seemed improved i just set it to unlink and put 1066 on the fsb and 800 on the memory and it seemed to do that fine.

I used the floppy drive flashing with some extra switches like CC for cmos clearing etc and it worked perfectly didnt even have to open the case up and clear the cmos :)

So so far it looks good but as I said I rushed to work so never managed to test it out.

Sounds good, will have to try this today :)

So does anyone know how to get sound mix to work with the intergrated sound on this mobo?

When I sue fraps there is no sound, I cant even adjust sound mix, its just blanked out.
