*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

They will finally get everything right then a new BF will be upon us and it starts all over again...

Well the new bf needs to be a monumental upgrade over this half baked free to play wannabe piece of crap. In all my years of battlefield since the original in 2002 this is the only BF game besides hardline that I've uninstalled after a few months and never looked back on. From the off just about everything felt wrong with this game, aircraft felt crap, tanks felt crap, infantry combat felt crap.

It's yet another example of dice doing what they do best, they don't iterate on previous games and take lessons and apply them to new games. It's like every bf game they wipe the slate clean and start from nothing, bf3/4 and 1 had really good vehicle mechanics and they had a good feel to them, bf v had good tank mechanics but planes were crap for ages. I don't see why its so hard to take what people liked about vehicles\infantry and duplicate it in new games instead of trying to reinvent the wheel constantly.

BFV had the infantry gunplay that people were craving for ages, no "RNG" for bullets, they went where you aimed, and even that wasn't enough to save that game as Dice went all political about having hook woman in it, made stupid public statements (don't like it don't buy it, ok then) then had a launch party where they had a light projection of complaints about the game on the wall for them all to laugh at. A few pics of that leaked and sales went down the crapper vs previous games.

God only knows what they have cooked up next as it's obviously well under development at this stage, presumably with the same band of muppets that made this abomination.

Battlefield 2042 | Development Update – Maps & Specialists Reworks, Vault Weapons, and More

I love how at 1:21 they talk about since they confirmed bringing back the class system they've seen, collated and reviewed thousands of comments from us all. Wonder how many were comments telling them to shove this game up their asses. The amount of negative comments on this game far outweighs the positive so they musta had to do some digging to get constructive comments.

And a server browser!!!!!!! One of the most requested features since the launch of the game. If I want to play Orbital 24/7 that's MY choice

And they go on about bringing back the class system but still bring in new specialists...just wtf? Are these morons just tone deaf or do they all need a slap to wake them up?

It's been the same for every BF (apart from bc2?)
I remember loads of issues with 4 which they fixed with the cte then threw out with bf1 then bfv was a mess and got good by the end before throw it all out again and make another mess

It's like they never catch up from the mess of the previous BF before another comes out

Battlefront 2 was same as well, mess then when gets good they end development

Dice are a company that in the end generally produce a good game, but they're hamstrung by the fact EA is in charge and they usually get pressured to make a date where the game simply isn't ready. Most of their games are released at a minimum of 6 months too early. BF4 for example took roughly that amount of time to get fixed.

It's a pity none of the higher ups at dice have the balls to push back against EA's stupid demands, in the end it would make for a better game, a better reception and better sales due to the game actually being "polished" for launch rather than a broken mess. But the chimps at EA can't see that, they don't care if an early launch leads to backlash, all they want are those "holiday season" sales.

I have been getting random cpu latency spikes in the game, it's almost as if the game gets "stuck" rendering the wrong frames for a couple if seconds, it's really jarring and annoying. Anyone else having this issue?

This time the faith that dice can produce over time isn't there as the team is only Dice by name... On twitter they are celebrating the hard work they have been through to bring in double xp this weekend after saying the tech wasn't there... Such a basic feature and yet so difficult for this team of amateurs.

It's a shame but Dice is no more.

I was a hater at the beginning too but I'm actually having a blast now.
Needs new maps though.

I think i was one of the biggest haters as im a fan of the series since day one, BF games are my most played.
But since the October update im having a blast , especially on the 64 player modes on the remade old maps like arica harbor, caspian border, valapariaso, but to be fair the new maps that i hates are a lot better after the dramatic changes.
Still not a fan of the specialists at all but i hope the upcoming changes to a class system might improve things here.
Gunplay is great now they addressed the input lag [more to come apparently].
I wonder if the haters have played it since October? as thats when the biggest changes to the gameplay and how the game feels came.
Give exodus conquest or flashback breakthrough a go and if still dont like it then so be it but if you bought it you may well be missing out despite your stubborn mind, i know i was stubborn and totally dismissed it regardless of what they changed.

my only complaint is they are taking too long to add guns / maps etc
not enough guns on start and not enough maps / poor ones

they should just add the portal maps into the proper rotations etc
already is guns / maps IN game, easy win to chuck it all in

Is Exodus Conquest still available? I've been playing Flashback a lot but couldn't seem to find it last I looked. To be honest, Flashback is the only reason I jump on. The rest, meh.

It seems to be on a timed rotation - I only play at the weekend but it's availble on and off

Aye definitely seems that way, I think the rest of dice got bored making only battlefield games and left to do other things as that's all EA ever wanted from the studio.

I think I read they all got burned out on BF4 / battlefront 2 as both were out at same time and both were a mess on release and staff got worked to death to fix both at same time and got **** from everyone for making two duff games so a bunch left afterwards
