*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

Yeah, agree with @Deanje and @gettothechopper about the new map. It's alright, it's not as good as Exposure or Spearhead but probably better than Stranded.

Breakthrough is pretty much a guaranteed attackers win, I don't think I've seen attackers lose yet. The capture points are so large that you can essentially swarm them quite easily and the surrounding areas lend themselves well to tanks just laying siege from the side with relatively good cover.

Plays nicely on Conquest but it definitely seems harder to win as the US as you're essentially fighting up hill the entire game. (edit: scrap that, actually have played 2 in a row as the US side and it was more a case of how to play the map from that side.

I really like the C1, D1 and E1 flags but wish there was better flow between the 3 of them.

I like the new vehicle! It's basically a better MAV... And the new SMG AC9 is very very good. Again, it's a better MP9 with a slightly smaller magazine.

Sticky grenade launcher is a LOT of fun, I'm glad they've added that in.

It's definitely a lot better for Conquest than it is for Breakthrough but yeah, I'd rank it above Stranded but below Exposure and Spearhead. It's not as good as the reworked Orbital and Breakaway either, both of those are great.

Really hoping the next BF game goes back to 64p rather than 128p - just feels like you can do more with the maps when you haven't got to consider 128 players. I don't mind 128p on 2042, I mostly play 128p Conquest but that's because I think the maps play a bit poorly with 64p as they clearly weren't designed for just 64 players.

One of fave maps on BF4, Zavod, always felt like there was non-stop action without feeling small - and at no point did I ever think 'wow I wish there was double the player count and double the map size'.

I like the tunneled rat runs that can get you to D.. it's a good flank to C and cover D if you can get passed undetected.

The hill reminds me of hamburger hill.

just played a flashpoint round as attacker - couldn't take the 2nd obj, so i guess that fixed things as it was the first time I think i have not seen attackers win

also

anyone else think its too hard for attack on flashpoint now? :D:D:D

My skill level hasn't got that bad, but wtf the game seems to be way worse in the hitreg aspect as well as dodgyness going on... I'm getting beamed across the map, double tapped and slide shot by brand new PC accounts.

Has the update done anything to change the pacing of the game? I tried to get into this a month ago and it felt like hyped up CoD pace but on the scale of BF which was really frustrating as it felt I was insta-dying from someone that was like 2 post codes away from me.

I totally reckon it has increased.. either that or I drank way too much coffee..

Was the Valparaiso map that was circulating for a while just some kind of random occurrence that EA/Dice tend to chuck in every now and then?

I really enjoyed that map and thought it was a BF2042 map, but it's originally from Bad Company 2.

Just played a few, definitely something different. It's almost like the bullet speed has been slowed too, particularly noticeable when long range sniping. It's like watching tracer rounds.

Anyone else notice that when the jam beacon has been deployed the static tends to remain on the Comms station even after it's been destroyed?
