*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

This is what happens when you hire on politics and not talent :p
Having never worked there I have no real insight, but I imagine that there's no unifying vision between the execs and the talent.
Those who want to make games have some passion which is generally not understood or cared for by those at the top. There's no unifying vision in these big publisher owned studios to make something special.

Surely they're not going to sack off Frostbite? That engine was basically built for Battlefield.

Yeah, and the people that built it have long since left the company, the ones that are left apparently had a lot of issues getting to grips with the engine.

Meh, will give it a quick go but after that the game is getting uninstalled...

I was going to uninstall it after the previous map which is really awful

The conquest layout for Stadium is awful.

The community can make better designs than this trash. All they've done is just used the same section, changed a few assets and called it done.

Remember the days of BF1942? Remember the days when Wake Island let you use destroyers, submarines and aircraft carriers and they weren't just static pieces of crap? Remember the days of Desert Combat? Aye, those days aint coming back, we didn't know how good we had it. That's what makes me laugh when they bring back Wake Island in some of these newer games, without all that naval interactivity it’s just a crap wannabe of the original. In 2002 somehow these had all these ships to use, yet 2 decades plus later all they can do is recycle the shape of the map and that's your lot. They struggled with a scoreboard in this game, no server browser either so it shouldn't be that surprising I suppose.

What always makes me laugh about these cheaters is how awful they are at the game too.

Just their general awareness and actual game sense, they're only look at those boxes surrounding enemy players and miss everything going on around them.

I've played a few games on the new map this past week on PS5 and it's been quite enjoyable. Still has it's issues but it has been nice to jump on for a few rounds.

What annoys me is the fact of how many times I've seen the exact same game play (without esp boxes) from Youtubbers and Streamers in Reddit and people think they are legit. Going after enemies every single time, with godlike awareness that don't show up on the minimap sometimes in the heat of action in smoke is an instant redflag. I look at the scoreboard and see 140 kills and 2 deaths with no vehicle in use and I'm like suuuure

There's still ArmA. Too bad Bohemia didn't care much about optimizing their engine in time.

Decided to reinstall this to give it a lash for the current event and i must say the battle of the bulge map is the closest this game has ever been to feeling like a genuine BF game.
I know thats not saying much with this game but as a veteran of the series it really is a solid game now with this event.
I wont go into the silly maps they chose for the big hardcore changes for this event but i dont bother with hc.
In all honesty the current state of the game is literally a different game to the crap we had for the first year or so, definitely worth checking if only for the M1 Garand they added from Portal :P

Oh wow a M1 Garand in Portal, I'm going to redownload this amazing game again right now! :D

Was playing the event last night - some cool skins. Costs 500 BF coins but you get those back from the event pass. Enjoyed playing as I haven't been on in a good few months

Uninstalled this garbage yesterday, RIP Battlefield..
Now it's £3.99 (until 11/11 on Steam) I was tempted to finally take the plunge.

Although after reading comments like this and others, it seems it's still priced too high.... :D
