June.......JUNE!...what the f!

Are EA/ DICE on a mission to sink BF's chances against COD!?..what the hell are they thinking, and why are we STILL waiting for the basic patches!
 
Patch will be mid April.

Nobody from DICE said the patch was delayed to co incide with the DLC everybody on the Internet just assumed that's what they would do.

The patch ETA has always been 'spring' and June is not spring. When asked when spring was in Sweden on twitter, one of the devs hinted at mid april
 
Noticed the official site says: Players 2-16, so I guess they really are small maps then! Personally I prefer the more narrow compact levels like Metro and Grand Brazar, especially on console. Could be good, imagine a map kinda like COD4's Vacant but completely destructible!

I think June is quite far away though, but thats only going by COD standards when a new game comes out every year. I dont know if they plan a BF4 for next Oct/Nov time? if theres no plans then they gotta spread the DLC.
 
I cant seem to barley get any hits with the Ground to Air missile launcher, was using it for a while but gets can just fly faster than the missiles, also just had a game where I had 3 locks on ( just reload time) and the Jet had flares ever time for it, then had two shots at a helicopter, and same thing, was it a joke that it was put into the game?
 
It was a result of a knee jerk reaction in the last patch.

The stinger / IGLA are now pretty much useless against jets. DICE have promised to fix it in the next patch however, its just they are taking so damn long to rectify it. Its been broken like this since the beginning of december.
 
You'd be better off waiting for someone to set up a SOFLAM and then use a javelin on jets and heli's. Me and a mate do it all the time and it's pretty much goodbye jet/heli every time :)
 
I'm not unhappy with the DLC announcement as I do tend to enjoy Metro and as stated above, Metro, Grand Bazaar, Seine Crossing to a point (Seem to get terrible stutter on this map) tend to be the most consistently enjoyable games as Caspian, Firestorm and Kharg can end up with only 3-4 kills as there are just too few players for consoles. Plus the fact they are reducing the max player count to 16 shows they are trying to aim for a more refined experience.

Want the patch soon though, certain bugs/overpowered things can really ruin a game for me. Saw someone post in the comments on Battlelog about how all of the losers 'whining' about people riding MAV's etc should learn to play. EA Forums/Battlelog really are the best place for entertainment if your wanting to see kiddies throw their toys out of their pram!

Out of curiosity has anyone else noticed the old BC2 crouching up and down over an enemy you've just killed? Guy did it to me the other day, so went and killed him and did the same. Checked yesterday and had a message from him saying 'GG that was funny' :p
 
All sounds seem to be broken to night for me, every vehical I get into theirs no engine or gun sounds, no warning sounds, no music playing a little towards the end of the round etc.
This might be one of the most broken games I have played online.
 
There was a video online with footage of the dlc being played but its been removed, and tbh its probably been done as it doesn't look great :( it was running around in an office block with small corridors and rooms with pc's and furniture in.
 
no its been removed because the press at the event were shown it under NDA.

EA aren't ready to release it yet and want a gradual build up of teasers etc. to build the hype and sell the DLC.

They don't want everybody to get all the information in one go, without any marketing, and thus decide they don't want the DLC before they can succumb to the hype.

Basic marketing stuff. Sadly what you see is what you're gonna get. BF3 : COD mode.
 
The new expansions sounds pretty good, but seriously when will they add a function to play one map ONLY, on repeat or at least be able to "skip" maps that you don't like.

i'm sick of playing some maps and never seeing a metro map.

I would play a lot more if i could play what i WANTED to.

Nobody has quite said when we will get ranked servers on console, but thats when we'll be able to do it.

There are loads of communities playing BF3 on the console who will chip in together to get their own server and have their own map rotation. I know when it comes i'll gladly organize something for the OcUK lads.
