*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Too little, too late!

Couldn't care less for BF now, first bf 1..... (which is still arguably better than bf 5, which says it all...) and then the **** show that is bf 5 was the final nail in the coffin for the BF franchise, at least for myself.
Same here I reckon. I liked BF1 although it was far removed from the glory days of 1945, DC etc. The multitude of problems with network and deference etc was awful. BFV piqued my curiosity after holding out and I eventually bought it two weeks ago. Holy moly, it's a steaming cow pat of a game. I think I've had one decent game where the netork has been acceptable. Doesn't feel BF anymore either, the random timing if you get a tank, plane etc is just absolute cods wallop.
Last BF I'll buy unless they revert it back to what it should be, a large open sandbox style fun war shooter.

Bfv now has elites. How long till the super bullet sponges re appear i wonder

The elites are just skins animations and voice overs. The only bullet sponges are in firestorm which just shouldn't be part of the game.
There have been a few interesting game modes in the last few weeks; squad conquest is fun in a good squad, grind was really good fun, great for kill streaks and clearing campers, and rush small was also good fun.

The big problem for me is conquest large generally sucks now. More often than not with 64 players the servers are a mess, while the smaller game modes are more fluid. Often players just don't seem to want to win on conquest large, they want to rack up a kill streak in a tank or plane and then quit halfway through. Grand operations is also terrible for quitters, the game mode is just too long.

Nope, if you can unlock all goodies straight away, you have a big advantage over those that have to grind, it's pay to win.

It's no different to the shortcut kits that were available since like BC2/BF3, yet i didn't see many people complain about that in the games before BF5.

A shortcut kit isn't going to immediately make a bad or average player suddenly a god.

The shortcut kits don't unlock the ranks for weapons or vehicles AFAIK. It's the specialisations you get access to from ranking weapons or vehicles that make them stronger.

People whinge and cry like babies and DICE go as far as ban or reset stats if players are seen to be "stat padding" which more often than not is just folks trying to open content behind a play-wall. But when it comes to the same content being accessible via a pay-wall/paying real money ....oh that's ok then. It's pathetic!

who still playing? and anyone want to squad up, i only have 1 friend that plays battlefield, all the rest are COD nuts

There's a handful of us still playing, I'm often on the unofficial OcUK Discord server in the evenings if you want to squad up. origin name the same as my forum name. Tonight is #FNB night where we play against EA and DICE reps and others.

Tried to play the campaign solo. Anyone else having random crashes?
Tried to limit maximum fps, tried to leave uncapped, tried lower settings. All the same, random crashes.
The GPU isn't overheating, not even close to it.
Ryzen 1600x
Xfx rtx2080
Team group 8 pack 16gb 3200
Samsung Polaris 970 Evo M.2
The case is well ventilated, the temperatures before, during and after crash are similar to the ones during other games.
Any ideas?
Quite annoyed.

Hard crashes or just crash to desktop?
First thing I'd try is disabling origin overlay in game, also don't run afterburner (or similar) in the background if you are. Both of these have caused problems with frostbyte engine games in the past. For in game settings, I'd avoid DX12.

1 Thing I have found is BFV is very good at finding unstable overclocks on ram or gpu

I see your running 3200mhz on a ryzen 1600x. Try playing with ram at spd speeds and report back
