*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

most fun I tonight was on the snowy map. Kept climbing up the mining escalators, going prone and just using my pistol to take pot shots at the enemy running past. They didn't have a clue where I was firing from.

Enjoying it, much more so than the Alpha.
It's floored my 980ti though, can't hit 60fps even on low settings (1440p) with a Ryzen 5. Dunno whats going on, can't get GPU usage to max out.

Quick fix is to turn off the FPS counter.
Not worth fighting it just for the few days of Beta. I shall just enjoy it whilst it lasts :)

I have to say, even in beta stage, the Rotterdam map might be one of my favourite BF maps ever! As for the game, I’m loving it, I wasn’t too much of a fan of BF3 or hardline, 4 and 1 were pretty good aside from some poor vanilla maps (I don’t do premium)

Runs at a solid 60fps on medium, just like BF1 on my i7-4770 r9-290, A’s said above the TTK feels spot, much better than BF1.

Very impressed

To me it just feels like a cod clone now
Acradey animations
No weight behind your character feels cod or titan fall like
Silly skull icons when people die
Hate the font too big
Recoil is good,

Rottordam could hardly find any enemies

No feeling of full scale war like any bf before.

bf1 killed the whole fullscale war thing for me . this is just no exception . funnily theres better weight to vehicles , tanks and planes . but agree I feel more floaty in first person . the best thing I find with this game is ammunition … I was in a tank , ran out of shells needing just one more to finish a tank off , then realised there were none to be had and I was so far away from base I couldn't refill . and so I died, and I wasn't even mad. sniper ammunition limit to 15 another brilliant idea imho .

Not a huge BF man but having played this last night for few hours I cant tell the difference between this and COD. I might be missing something but it feels like loads of people just running around randomly and dying a lot despite there being some objectives buried deep in there somewhere.

No-one seems interested in the objectives and its simply about the frags, generally the first shot wins so it may as well be instagib and getting headshot sniped from 200m with an STK? Really?

Also the 2 maps feel tiny compared to previous BF games do they not?

After playing a quick round last I have to say, I agree with a lot of this.

I'm finding it hard to describe but a lot of the weapons don't feel like they have any 'punch' - the sounds are very tinny and CoD like, it just didn't play like a BF title to me.

Also, the sensitivity felt way off, I used to use around 4~5% in BF1 but even 2% feels too fast in the beta... I'm going to try and put some solid hours in over the weekend as I didn't get much time with it last night.

100% this - Far to much like COD for me - run and gun, die, spawn again, run and gun, die, spawn again - also why have a medic class when medics just run around without reviving etc. Played for 40 mins yesterday and not revived a single time.

Looks nice but very "cluttered" maps with 7 objectives and every one just all over the show. Can hardly make out who's enemies/friendlies at times.

Have you overclocked? How much system memory you got? I average 75 FPS with my 980ti (1500/4000) on ultra. 3930k at 4.7 16gb 2133 mem

Played a bit last night and got really annoyed with the solar flare off the water on the Narvik map. It's ridiculous, couldn't see **** when trying to hit people under D.

As i've said before, they've tailored this down for more casual gaming. Get in with the kids and all that.

Lol, it is nowhere near as casual as crutch field 1 :D

But yup, that is one other thing I'm not liking about the game atm, the colours/contrast, everything just seems blown out, dare I say, I would rather have bf 3's blue tint.........

Also don't like Rottordam, too much of a camp map.

I was thinking this too when I had a couple of rounds last night, it needs a bit more of a gritty feel imo. Have they done that to the graphics to try and sell more RTX cards!? :p

16GB, and it would be rude not to overclock a 980ti :) I run it at 1450/1800.
I get 75hz on BF1 as well /Ultra.

For some reason BF5 keeps the gpu useage at 70-80%, Like it is being CPU bottlenecked, but it is'nt.
I don't mind, still doing well and it is a Beta.

Almost as if Nvidia added a "your card is nice and all but I bet you want to upgrade, nerf in the latest drivers that BF5 forces you to use. :(
Must be a bottleneck in the system somewhere or just a beta bug.

If people PTFO then it's a far from run and gun as you could get. I agree that Rotterdam is a campy map but that's the nature of an urban map. Amiens in 1, Pearl Market in 4 etc etc. I love the scarcity of ammo and the no spotting, makes for a much more tense game, albeit quite a bit longer.
Loving it and so much better than BF1. By a freakin mile. 10/10 for me so far.

Same here, not having an ammo problem either, just restock at objectives and collect the ammo from the corpses.
Going to be hard to play BF1 untill November :(
Loving the Medic class, can finally go 1vs1 and win without having to have the reflexes of a 12 year old Fortnite player.

Standard BF medics these days :)

On a side note I really enjoyed it last night.
