*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Really liking it so far, just like i expected it plays very like CODUO back in the day which was fantastic.
Few bugs ofcourse , i also feel the particle effects are waaaaay overdone but overall with some work it will be a must have.

My old PC while not doing the game justice runs it fine on low settings at 2560X1440 with decent framerate most of the time.

I will be buying a full new rig once the new nvidia cards drop.

Quick vid of my first few minutes ingame.

Anything is better than bf 1 retarded gunplay! :D

From what I have heard/seen, it is more like BC 2/bf 4 gunplay again

It feels a lot like BC2. Weapons have proper recoil. Game runs pretty well on my RX480 all settings on high and 1080P around 80-100fps.

I do not like the lack of ammo. I always like to go round the back and rape yet run out of amm way too fast!

One thing to note is that spread is still a thing, but it's supposedly toned down a bit in comparison to bf1 and is no longer influenced by suppression.

First shot spread multiplier is particularly important one. If spread did not increase on your first shot more than it does on the second, then it leads to high fire rate weapons being tap fired at the maximum fire rate of the weapon with no penalty whatsoever (other than recoil for which vertical recoil is trivially easy to control with a mouse and horizontal recoil which is utterly impossible to cope with unless you use macros*). The AEK in bf4 was a prime example of what happens if you have a high fire rate gun with too low a first shot spread multiplier and easily controlled recoil, essentially all other weapons become irrelevant. Spread is also a useful way of differentiating shots from a static shooter or a moving shooter (the penalties being greater for moving shooters)

I hear a lot of people talking about RBD (Random bullet deviation) when they are failing to understand what spread is and why it is necessary as a balancing tool. Xfactor an levelcap are the prime miss-informers here which is why they are consistently ridiculed by the symthic lot and competitive players**

Marbleduck and danminigun have done very good videos explaining how this system works and why. Spread has been used in bf since BC2, and is particularly prevalent in CSGO where the meta is to stop dead before firing to reset the spread.

*Recoil macros are cheating no other way to describe them. If you remove spread then they become even more effective.
** I know there is no competitive bf scene, but there are competitive players who play it and compete in other games.

Not a great map for tanks it has to be said. Seeing a lot of complaints about the snow flurries getting annoying for people, apparently stationary mg's are broken and have almost no accuracy.

Tanks feel pretty good, they still slide around quite a bit on some sections of the map. If your tank gets low on "health" you can repair it to about 50%, then you either need an engineer or need to get to one of the resupply areas to be able to repair it properly.

Destruction is a bit "meh" on this map, all the buildings are wooden (besides a few pillboxes) so there's not a lot of large bits crumbling off like you would get on sinai desert. Doesn't feel as satisfying to plug a round through a wooden building as visually it doesn't look as good. The tanks front coax gun really does make mincemeat of infantry though as seen in the videos it overheats pretty quickly.

The tanks sliding all over the place reminds me of bf4. On some maps the tanks used to just slide all over the place, it's actually something that was for the most part fixed in bf1 (although jumping out of a moving boat on some maps can give your soldier massively exaggerated momentum). The physics in bf4 was totally bizarre in some cases (Get a lav stuck, nudge it with another vehicle to free it, but nudge it towards some water, and your all set for a trip to the moon).

Just noticed you can in fact pick the tiger tank, even seen a sturmtiger rolling around the map for a bit.

Hope they get the weapons sorted, allies running around with stg's looks a bit odd.

The map i was just on had several doodlebug hits as well, pretty devastating explosion if you're close to it.

Just noticed there's an option for "simplified" controls for the planes, its on by default. No wonder they felt a bit crap, not tried them with it off yet as finding a game right now is incredibly hard.

Seems that at least some of the graphics assets for settings are in the game, sticking everything to ultra dipped my fps from the 60's to 40's on my ryzen\furyx system.

Yeah, this makes me laugh. "Wah, the snow is annoying and makes it harder to concentrate, waahh". No ****... it's snow!

Bellends.

bellends because they dont like the overly done snow?, seems dice dont either as they have reduced it and talking about reducing it more.

Typical Dice, folding for the kids.

If there were actual bugs though as said, then fair enough.
