Shiny, did anyone think that the stairs you climb up as soon as you get out of the water, the textures looked like they lifted them straight from pdz?

Max payne what a game, i still remember running into the bogs and shooting a guy with a shotgun while he was taking a dump.

What is wrong with people not enjoying it?? This thread title is "The Official Bioshock is overrated thread :)" so if you don't think it is overrated then go and post in the other bioshock threads, simple.
 
Yes but is it even over-rated? They don't like the game, fair enough - but for the FAR greater majority who think it's superb, it clearly does live up to the hype. Is over-rated really a subjective term when the inteded target audience are lapping it up and truly believe it was worth it?

Yes it is over rated, maybe not to some people but it is. This will not change the way we look at fps games, Halo will still be the biggest seller of the year and all the other fps games coming out that are nothing like Bioshock will still score well.

Heh, i see you don't mention Crysis anymore...bit-tech preview put you off? ;)

As for Halo outselling Bioshock..most probably...but that's like saying a Golf GTI will outsell a Ferarri. We both know where the quality is...but the Halo zealots desperate for a decent game will lap the third installment up. From the previews of Halo and Bioshock..it's quite evident Bioshock is doing something different whereas Halo looks just like a tarted up version of the last two games. ;)

Like I said in the other thread if you don't the game thats fine but it DOES NOT change the fact that this is a revolutionary game that has raised the FPS bar to a whole new level, I think those that are being negative are either the type that think it's cool to go against the grain and try to be a non-conformist or they are just jealous that they can't see or appreciate the game in the way that others can so feel like they are missing out on the fun.

Jesus, its only a game, fair enough if we were saying your mam or gf or something was overated, but its a bloody game, its forgotten about in a year most likely.

If a magazine rates a game 10 out of 10, I don't find it credible..!

No game is perfect, and that's what 10 should mean - there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but I can guarantee that even the least critical eye could find something of slight annoyance in any game!

PC Gamer all the way :D Have sworn by them since they were releasing demo's on floppy disk ("HUGE" 1.4mb Hexen demo, anyone?) and they haven't been wrong yet!
 
The Golf vs. Ferrari comparison is extremely poor.

Were they both the same price, just as Halo and Bioshock will be, then of course every single person would buy the Ferrari.

As it is, both the same price, Halo 3 will easily outsell Bioshock as it is a format which appeals to far more people.

Excuse me, Bioshock and Halo will be the same price, a golf GTI and ferrari are not.. Thats a bit stupid..right?
Halo has already proven to have a winning formula(im not a fan, remotely) so whats the point in them fixing it?
Bioshock doesnt even have multiplayer, which is a massive thing in fps these days, thats something different id say, leaving the multiplayer out..

but that does'nt mean that it's the better game though does it, look how many halo 2's were sold, do you think that makes it the best single player game ever made ?, because that's what we're talking about here, the best ever single player game ever made, how can you compare that to a predominately online first person shooter, they are completely different games/genres.

I never said which was the better game, did I?

I just stated that Halo 3 will sell more as it appeals to more people.

Or do you disagree with that?
