Hamed had another fight after the Barrera fight which was a snooze fest, IIRC he was fighting a spanish guy for one of those boxing titles which I think was worthless.

The fight went the distance and then Hamed proceeded to tell the crowd who were booing him over his shoddy performance that they knew nothing about boxing.

He was amazing to watch and was very good but the millionaire lifestyle got to him in the end, shame really.

The current scene of boxing is a joke, as soon as Mayweather and Pacquaio retire from the scene it will be dead. There have been many epic fights in the past between some true warriors which have been awesome to watch.

***** like Don King have aided boxing along the way to self destruct :(

Khan is a class act now under virgil hunter

Mayweather wont fight khan hes got power and is fast something mayweather wont face up to

Devon got a boxing masterclass by khan

Fairly decent display by Khan. Still dreaming if he thinks he can beat mayweather.

I've been saying this for a long time and I hope the fight is made so I'm proven right, but Khan has a better chance of beating Mayweather than any other welterweight I can think of.

Does that mean he's on Mayweathers level, absolutely not. Khan doesn't even really deserve the fight, he's got losses that he needs to avenge but his management will make sure that he avoids fighting any big hitter. Devon Alexander was hand picked for Khan, make no mistake about it. He is a quick, technically good boxer but with very limited power. Khan was suppose to out jab and outbox Devon all night, he is far too quick, and he actually for the first time in a long time stuck to a game plan and boxed really well, and took very few risks. This is how Khan should have been fighting his whole career but I think Virgil Hunter has to take a lot of credit for it, you could hear him shouting instructions and angry when Khan did decide to stand and trade even in very small bursts in this fight.

Mayweather is one of the best boxers of this generation and has adjusted to every style. Put a big hitter in with him and they will miss all night while Mayweather schools them. Mayweather however, is not a big hitter and he does not knock people out, he hasn't for about 10 years (apart from Ortiz who stood with his gloves down looking at the ref). This is Khans biggest weakness. Mayweather has amazing reflexes but he will not be able to dodge Khans punches due to Khans superior - yes superior, hand speed. Mayweather will be dealing with something he hasn't dealt with for a very long time, speed, and he will be caught more often than we are use to seeing. It will make an interesting spectacle to see how Mayweather adjusts, that is the intriguing part. That is why so many people want to see the fight, not because they believe both fighters are on the same level, it's the clash of styles.

First time I've seen a full Khan fight in quite a while and he did pretty well. Not quite sure I agree with the SS commentators, that he's now an amazing boxer. He's not quite elite-level but you have to give him some credit, I forgot just how quick he is  He does look to be thinking a lot more when he's boxing now but then Alexander didn't really offer much at all.

Whilst Khan would catch Mayweather I doubt he'd be able to land many clean punches as Mayweather doesn't really leave himself open. I reckon Mayweather or Pacquiao would still have the better of him, they're far more accurate strikers - although I do say that without any stats to back it up.

Great performance by Khan, thoroughly dismantled Alexander who is a quality fighter.

Regarding pac and floyd, I'd have pac knocking him out under six as mannys got real power with great hand speed. I'd give Khan a better chance at floyd in a boxing match with the speed advantage and sheer work rate. Also Khan throws combos which would be effective against floyd.

Styles make fights, funny thing is Khan would probably get sparked by many of the other heavy hitting welters, fighters floyd would make mince meat of.

I'd agree with your first point but Mayweather banged Hatton out .....

Remembering your first point Khan would get banged out by any big hitter , he got caught 2 or 3 times by a big blow last night if that was a big hitter Khan would have gone into I'm not hurt mode with hands in the air

Well he's finally boxing and sticking to a game plan, the moment he steps out of the plan and thinks he can exchange shots..Garcia fight is what happens!

I hope he fights mayweather, will be worth watching.

Khan is more than capable of beating Mayweather imo.

It will go to a decision and Khan's speed, accuracy and workrate could get him the decision.

Khan is so much better than people give him credit for. He's a totally different fighter to the one who got KO'd by Prescott and Garcia.

In his past 12 fights going back 8 years, Mayweather has KO'd Hatton and a defenceless Ortiz, that's it. He is not a one punch KO fighter and he never has been, and this is Khan's biggest flaw. It is safe to say that Mayweather will not KO Khan quickly.

Mayweather adapts to any situation, he out boxes and simply outclasses opponents, but the vast majority of his recent opponents have been big hitters, they haven't been known for their speed. If you watch Mayweather vs a prime Zab Judah from many years ago, the first half of the fight was very even because Judah was very quick.. but he gassed out. Khan has good stamina, a good work rate, throws punches in combinations very rarely single shots and he has ridiculous hand speed. He's also quite big for a welterweight and has a big reach, his style will give Mayweather big problems.

Wilder vs Stiverne tomorrow, his first real test, should be interesting. Wilder vs Fury later this year would be great.
...............

Not convinced this fight means a great deal but it might keep the Americans happy :D

Hard to take Wilder serious when his 'notable' wins list include Audley Harrison :D

The fact he would be after a fight with Fury is hardly surprising, better that than a unification loss to Klitschko.

It could be another David Price moment, the American hype machine that is Deontay Wilder could be totally dismantled, that's what makes it interesting for me. There is no question Wilder has power but he's never taken one on the chin, and Stiverne CAN hit. Wilder for me doesn't have the right physique for a boxer, more a basketballer but we'll see. Rumours are he's been dropped a fair bit in sparring...

Round 5 coming up, unchartered territory for Wilder. He's done well so far and used his jab to stay at range, and occasionally unloaded on Stiverne, dropped him at the end of the 2nd but Stiverne is very tough, he's taken a lot and he's still coming forward...
