Shannon Briggs is great, and I'd much rather see Haye fight him rather than these absolutely nobodies he seems to be digging out. I'd love to see Briggs lay him out actually, I've been following Briggs via YouTube clips ever since he got in the UK. Very likable character and in tremendous shape for his age. LETS GO CHAMP!!

I must admit I hadn't heard of Briggs before but he looks to have been pretty decent back in the day. Surely he's past it no? Haye rightfully gets some criticism but he's pretty sharp and fit.

I've just tuned into to the Martin V Joshua "Gloves are off" shows that Sky do in build ups to fights, I do cringe a bit when watching them but still find myself eager to watch!

Martin's first sentence is "I walk this Earth like a God" LOL, seriously?

I've had a quick look on YT and his "highlights" reel shows him to be able to KO out of shape heavyweight but there's no finesse - before I saw it I thought Joshua should make easy work of it, even more so now.

...finished.... Martin seems like a nice guy tbf and he didn't come across as an arrogant **** (I guess he'll big it up for more promo stuff) I still think Joshua is going to batter him :D

I just watched the Briggs fight.. wow. He was getting walloped a lot and just kept on coming back.
If he is fit and healthy, would be a difficult (perhaps long?) fight for haye!
However, I severely doubt Briggs is up to taking that kind of punishment anymore...

Briggs, at his peak, was quite the fighter. For about 1.5 rounds. Then he would completely gas out and splutter to a stop. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure he ever won a decision.

My only memory of Briggs is throwing a wild left hook at Lewis, missing, falling flat on his face then getting stopped by the ref :D

Lewis has recently said Briggs was the hardest puncher he ever faced :)

Wasn't Briggs the guy who chased Klitschko onto a lake whilst he was paddle boarding? That was pretty funny.

Edit: Yeah it was :p

Let's go champ!!

In other news, Callum Smith fights in a world title eliminator tonight on Sky. Only name I know on the undercard is Rocky Fielding.

Would explain why Dodd wasn't too disappointed with the decision. More money to be made from a 3rd fight on the back of that rather than a Dodd win.

I reckon Hearn sticks his oar in as well when it comes to decisions sometimes. Not blatantly telling the judges what to do, but a sly little comment to them about what he would like to happen and what it could mean to their pockets if there is a rematch.
