Apparently he used to spar Andre Ward back in the day but not really sure what people would expect.

MMA fighters cannot box any more than a boxer could MMA. It’s another cash grab.

I find it funny how a youtuber is showing up some of these mma guys. Granted it isn't their sport of choice but a couple of years ago you'd of gotten laughed at for suggesting a youtuber could beat them in the ring. The same guys mind that used to say Roda Rousey could beat Mayweather in a street fight, before she got royally found out.

After listening to Joe Rogans fight companion it sounded like a good fight so I watched it but it was just Nate doing Nate stuff and Jake still looking like a rough boxer. If the MMA match happens then Nate should absolutely smash Jake, we've seen how he holds up to 10 rounds of his boxing.

AJ will be fighting Robert Helenius on Saturday. Serious questions should be asked if he doesn’t KO him.
Assuming it'll still be PPV, I'm not sure what would be worse - paying £27 (on top of your DAZN sub) to watch Joshua not knock him out or do what Wilder done and knock him out in a round?

I've heard it's not PPV now. AJ apparently just want's to fight and will take the bath on the cash. Fair play to them for at least finding a semi credible replacment.

It’s not a great opponent at all and I’d be p’d if I had bought tickets. But hey ho such is life, it’s just an unfortunate set of circumstances. None of which is AJ’s fault obviously.

Very underwhelmed.

It’s a pointless fight. He’s now expected to knock him out in one round as had already been mentioned, the problem is, one round is pretty poor preparation for an upcoming bout with windmill. Im not blaming anyone but this is absolutely pointless.

At least it's not a PPV event any more. Ultimately they could only really pick from a limited pool of fighters. It was always a stay busy fight with the hop DW could bring the dog out of AJ again.

No point doing a risky last minute match up ala Ruiz Jr. Just put a human heavybag for AJ to punch up and gain some confidence.

If I remember correctly, when he was asked about his last fight not being on PPV, Joshua said that he's getting paid the same regardless of PPV or not. I guess, similar to DAZN's original deal with Canelo, Joshua agreed a set figure for x fights promoted by matchroom on DAZN.

That's not what Hearn implied on the 5Live Boxing pod last night. He definitely suggested that the PPV was the juice in fights like this and Joshua will take a hit in his purse.

Yeah but it’s a lose, lose for Joshua. He’ll get paid but he’ll gain little else.

He’s now expected to beat him in a round or we’ll hear the choir sing his demise. One round is of no benefit to him. If he’s goes a few rounds we’ll hear it’s further evidence that he’s done. It’s utterly pointless.

I always take what Hearn says with a massive pinch of salt. He done the media round before Joshua's last fight saying Joshua's only in it for the love of the sport and then in Joshua's first interview he was asked what motivated him or words to that effect and he made it clear it was just for the money. I appreciate it's his job but the way Hearn talks on behalf of his fighters is what winds me up most about him because it's often plainly obvious that he's lying.

Who knows though, maybe what Joshua said only applied to his last fight but I'd be surprised if it's not DAZN and matchroom taking most of the pain in this situation because whatever Joshua will be earning won't be cheap and DAZN's subscription numbers are still **** poor and Hearn's apprentice has confirmed that refunds are being given to anybody that bought a ticket for the Whyte fight - obviously not everybody will take it but I'd imagine a fair few will.
