Garcia got 7 rounds under his belt and looked decent against Sammy Vargas. Looks likely Thurman and Garcia will happen in May and I've got my fingers crossed for Manny Pacquiao v Kell Brook in the UK.

Kovalev v Ward on the weekend, someone is going to lose their undefeated status.

I've been watching some of the build up on Sky and what both of them have been through is a testament to their character  true fighters! Makes the rowdy "look at me" boxers look more pathetic than ever, in comparison.

I've not seen many of their individual fights but this sounds like it's going to be an epic fight, hopefully one of the best in recent times!

Not a fan of Ward, he's another punch and run type of fighter, but people have questioned whether age is catching up with him because he didn't look too good in his last fight.

I really hope for the sake of the fight that Ward doesn't get away with holding too often because Kovalev will need to get up close and personal to be able to land a punch on him. If he does, I don't think anyone knows what will happen because Ward doesn't get hit too often and will have never been hit as hard as Kovalev punches :)

I'm favouring Ward by a wide points decision sadly but I really hope I'm wrong.

Ward should win this, unless his time out of the ring has significantly dulled his technique.

Kovalev could still blow him out, of course, but suspect Ward's spoiling should cause lots of problems.

I think Ward will have to drop Kovalev to win. Or at least seriously hurt him in exchanges and tie him up a lot.

Would love Kovalev to land some bombs on Ward but it probably won't happen. Ward V Froch wasn't quite as one sided as people as most people remember and I would rate Kovalev who is also naturally bigger, above Froch in terms of his ability to land. Ward may well fade late in the fight giving people Ward a punchers chance. That said, I expect Ward to take it on points but probably only by a round or two. I expect it will be a bit closer than people think. Doubt if it will be a classic fight unfortunately but probably worth a watch.

Eagerly awaiting the big fight. I am rooting for Kovalev. Ward may be a great fighter, but I don't like his style. Just like I don't like Mayweathers. There is skill and there is running away for the fight and winning on boring points decisions.

I like a fight not a chess match.

Big ring tonight as well. Wards team has obviously ensured that.

I agree completely. I want to see a proper Rocky type scrap, and a knockout to the canvas. TKOs and points is just meh.
