Just watched it, what a great fight, incredible action and what a finish.

I would think there was maybe a round in it either way at that point but to finish like that. Amazing.

AJ needs to unify against wilder before he faces fury imo

too much at stake against fury, if he lost to fury on points for example then the unification is over

I can't see the Fury fight happening soon. Hearn will want to milk Joshua as much as he can. Like I said last night, I can see Bellew being used to build up a potential Wilder-Joshua fight and then maybe 12-18 months down the line, once Fury has come back and had a couple of fights, we'll see Fury and Joshua.

Fury needs to get his act together first, he still doesn't have a license and was about 5 stone overweight not long ago!

Unlike Wlad who you can imagine is a model professional outside the ring hence his physical fitness last night, Fury after 18 months inactivity eating kebabs is going to need some tune up fights first! He needs to cut out all this weight yoyoing as well long term it'll catch up with him same as it did Hatton.

Fury might not be able to put AJ away, but I reckon he'd probably outbox him for a points win if he's in shape. Then again, AJ has the equalizer if he can get through.

As for last night, the punch of the fight has to be Wlad's right hand in round 6. Surviving and then coming back from a solid smack like that was like some Rocky ****! I don't think there was anyone who thought it wasn't over at that point.
AJ's uppercut in the 11th was beautiful (and perhaps a touch lucky), but it wasn't enough to put him down on it's own. Wlad's one tough mofo...

As for that tool Fury?? I'm hoping AJ doesn't waste his time on him. He got very lucky beating Klitsch but that fat ass needs to STFU and stop being an utter idiot. AJ would wipe the floor with him, depending on whether Fury can stop snorting and lose some weight.

If you're on about Fury he was not lucky against Wlad. He showed him up.

HBO's take on the fight, they can barely contain themselves. This is where British boxing is atm, it's running the show.

Parkers reaction during the fight:

You can see from the screen at the back what they are reacting too, Parker seems pleased when AJ goes down saying 'I knew it' but later when K is getting pummeled he's not as animated :D he wants no part of AJ. He mouths 'early stoppage' at the end..

Nah, for me the punch was the uppercut. Absolute decapitation and pretty much finished Wlad.

First fight I've watched, great watch. I really like AJ's attitude before and after, a humble guy with very little of this staged rivalry abs cockiness.

Just checked my bank to see skybox office refunded me £10 because of the issues they were having with the stream from Saturday night. Nice of them. :)

So who have we now got in the HW division?

AJ - possibly the biggest prospect, still plenty to learn but has shown the heart that is needed. Easily the potential for highest earner in HW.
Wilder - still unknown and the most protected champion I can think of.
Ortiz - fighting journeymen and chasing that idiot Scott around the ring. To dangerous to fight or not a good enough prospect?
Parker - needs a new promoter and has to move fights to UK/USA. After Hughie fiasco he has an easy last fight in NZ (then maybe Wilder?)
Tyson Fury - weight issues and mental issues leave him as an unknown. Even if he starts now don't see him fighting for a title for at least a few years.
Klitschko - I would like to see him retire. It was a great performance against AJ and confirmed everything good about him.
Pulev - 6 straight wins since his loss to Klitschko and some questionable opponents will he get another title shot.

So will we see AJ clear up? Will the various bodies even allow a route to unification or will they protect their own?
Will Parker get his fight against Wilder or is that to dangerous for Wilder or to big a step up for Parker?

So many musings but the HW division could really put itself back at the forefront of boxing again.

Parker is defending his title tomorrow morning around 11am UK time. Seen little bits of him, nothing really stands out about him. Will be tuning in but I think he's clearly the easiest target atm for anyone after a world title.

To add to the list above:
Bellew - not a natural heavyweight, won't be able to compete with the giants.
Whyte - Could nick a world title against carefully selected opposition. Infact, I wouldn't even right him off against Wilder who looks like he could be KO'd just as quickly as he KO's the cannon fodder opposition he's been fed up to now.
Chisora - On his day could give any top level heavyweight a good fight, not really worth any of the top guys taking a backwards step to face him. Big risk, little reward. I thought he should have had the decision over Whyte.

I thought Whyte was certainly lucky to get the win and remember thinking a draw was a much clearer decision, leaning towards Chisora as the winner.

Parker's defence is against a last minute stand-in since Hughie's apparent injury. I think that is the second time he has stopped that fight happening.
Parker expected to walk it and it certainly won't as close to his MD against Ruiz Jr.

Its a nothing fight compared to the Hughie match up which would have given him (and Hughie) some much needed column inches.

Oh dear. Parker is looking a very difficult sell now. A points win over Cojanu has completely shattered the hype train.

Hughie Fury will be gutted having watched that fight as he must fancy his chances.
