****The Official Captain America: Civil War Thread ****

If they stick close to the Civil War comics then Steve Rogers is killed off by the end.

If Chris Evans did want to leave they could have Bucky Barnes take over the Captain America role.

That would cause tension in the group, given that in the trailer we see bucky try to headshot Stark, even Stark looks shocked..

I think the Marvel movies have got that men's razor issue. Every new one has to have more than the ones before it. Avengers got them all together for a purpose, but now it feels like every movie is just them throwing as many characters in as possible because they have to have more than previously.

DC are doing the same thing with their TV series'. Throwing loads of characters in and making it all very confusing and very difficult to form any sort of attachment to the characters other than waiting for them to have a fight.

I'm steering less and less towards the big mass character things and focusing on the single character stories which Marvel are doing really well with the Netflix TV shows. Watching one character evolve and develop through their personal story is far more interesting than watching a hundred people, half of whom I don't know, have a big fight.

I kind of feel the oposite to you Skeeter. At least about Civil War. There aren't enough yet for them to do it. Yes, if they were able to bring in X-Men and Fantastic 4 too, and the Inhumans from Agents of SHIELD, there would be more reason for there to be registration. But at the moment there are only 15 or so superheroes. There aren't enough to be a Civil War, just an argument amongst a few people.
But yeah, I think there should be more solo movies before they can do a Civil War.

Just watched the second trailer and I'm mighty excited for this! loved the first two. I do feel they gave a lot away though :/ just realised there are another 2 coming out later as well.

What a great era we live in with all these Marvel-ous films we have :)

I'll go and see this as I'm a fan of the franchise but agree with sentiment above, there is far too much given away in trailers these days but that's often due to poor writing in action films where there is little to no interesting storyline or notable dialogue.

I found Deadpool exactly as in my previous paragraph - far too much given away and apart from the crude (and unfunny) jokes the storyline was beyond dull. Yes I appreciate it was there to take the mickey about X-Men and other films in the genre but trailers definitely took away a huge amount of the 'entertainment' from the film.

Not that I was a big fan of the film but at least Star Wars gave enough in the trailers to generate interest and intrigue (not to mention huge speculation) but that's what you want from this sort of film.

Agreed Civil war doesn't have enough heroes if anything. Isn't the actual list 50 or 60 per side in the comics :D Of course that's hard to pull off in the films but 5 or so per side doesn't really seem to work for me. I'm sure I will enjoy it though.

I guess they have to push this along because a few of the actors seem to have had enough.

Looks pretty good standard Superhero crap that I have been grown to love :P

As usual i know very little about the comic books but looking forward to seeing this soon

Where is the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 ? That i'm looking out for !

Xmen, Batman Superman, there is plenty to watch this year!

Ultimately I hope to see a movie about the dwindling number of humans who aren't superheroes. Their story of determination to survive in the ruins of civilisation, never knowing when suited figures might randomly appear and begin another tranche of destruction...

In the gap until they make such a film, you might want to read "Steelheart" by Brandon Sanderson. It's reminiscent of this concept and is awesome.
