eglobaluk seem to have the non-lite for £157 which seems even better value. If they've sorted the issues since the A1 then it could be my next phone at that price. Pleased I've held off getting the Note 5 so far.

edit: no sd card slot so it isn't for me.

Stupid again from Xiaomi they really need to hire some people to sort them out

I'm thinking of buying the mi a2 lite from gearbest, the shipping options are free with Priority Line and £5.40 for Expedited Shipping, is one of them a preferred method for avoiding import duties? Or can you be charged with either one? This is coming from a HK warehouse...

Or alternatively does anyone know of a better way of getting hold of one perhaps with someone else? Maybe AliExpress. The reason I've plumped for Gearbest is that they specifically say the Global version and list the bands as having all the bands for UK networks...

Thanks for any input

Guys I'm hoping someone can help my younger brother out, he bought the eGlobal central Redmi Note 5 and received the dual sim AI version (M1803E7SG). He is very happy with the phone however he is unable to use the Vodafone mobile data, he has tried various APN settings, swaping from 4g, 3g, 2g and even had Vodafone technical support have a look at it. The tech support guy couldn't figure it out and just ordered him a new sim which still hasn't worked. His phone accepts the Vodafone sim and even shows the 4g signal, WiFi runs perfect but no mobile data, he has reset the APN settings to default and even carried out a factory reset.

He bought the phone from the following link

https://www.eglobalcentraluk.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-4gb-64gb-dual-sim-blue.html#description

I feel it might be something quite obvious that he is missing like a simple setting or a *# code setting that needs to be activated, anyone else here with a redmi 5 note AI dual running Vodafone?

thanks

Is Vodafone 4G based on B20? If so he must not have the global version.

The slower option is better due to expedited shipped tends to be the likes of dhl who always add on extra charge.

Both could be stopped but with standard they tend to under value so even if it was you would be paying far less.

aliexpress has many sellers who state if they already add on vat or what value they will ship on the package also checkout eglobalcentraluk for stock

Silly question, mobile data is turned on, right? I only ask as it confused me for 10 minutes. I had one come with it off by default but there was no particular sign that it was off. Delve into settings perhaps?

Agree with this. When I turn mobile data off, I often get a capital "4G" showing on a couple of xiaomi phones I have.

Has he tried another sim ?

Yeap tried another Vodafone sim and it worked full 4G 40mb speed test, not sure WTH is going on with Vodafone support as they have changed over the faulty 4G sim 3 times now, I knew it would be something silly but this takes the biscuit...

Anyhow being a Pixel 2 owner myself I must say the Redmi 5 Ai dual is fantastic bit of kit for £150 all in (got the 4gb/64gb version).
