**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

It's a Mi5. Quite dated now but thought it would be compatible since it has front facing camera. I'll try the Hong Kong suggestion.

Be careful, if you don't like it you might not be able to go back due to the stupid ant roll back system they have introduced. If your not sure have a look on YouTube as to what it is before you flash it.

It's worth doing before you try, it's a stupid idea someone has come up with and can permanently brick your phone so becareful.

I flashed from global to beta via the updater app and it worked fine but that was before the anti roll back was introduced. I think it only affects MIUI 10 ROMs.

Appreciate it scrivz, will let you know how I get on. Cheers

Can anyone let me know whether, if I buy a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S via the rainforest's Spain site, it will have all of the Google Play services, and particularly will it be able to use Google Pay?

Based on my limited Spanish, it is a Global version so will have google and work with google pay.

Mine is, and does, I just got mine from Aliexpress.

Muchas gracias.

Edit: Also , how are you finding yours? My Oneplus 3 died last night and I'm torn between this, the OP6, and the Mate 10 Pro...

I love it!

The only thing I really miss is OLED, everything else is brilliant. The Mi Mix 3 looks tasty as a result, but I can't justify more expenditure when my 2S is so good.

Did any one end up going for Mi A2 Lite?
Yep, I did. It's another good Xiaomi buy from me. My previous mobile over the last 2 years has been a Redmi 3s Prime and that one is still working fine, I gave it to a friend who had just broken his windows phone.

This one is much as I had expected, stock android (already got the August (July) security update), faster than my 3s as it has the SD625 as opposed to the SD430 processor, excellent battery life, everything I wanted really. The only criticism I could lay at it is that the adaptive brightness was too aggressive, I think it was defaulting to 50% brightness but it was dull and hard to see especially in low light, I've wacked it up to 80% and it is much better; adaptive off and it's bright as hell so I've kept it on.

I paid £161 for my 4GB/64GB version, then a week later the 3GB/32GB version was up for sale at £131, I would have had that if I could as it would have been plenty enough for me, don't give a monkeys about not having NFC and only being MicroUSB charging, it's fair to say that will bother some though like android pay users...

Any questions just ask away but I'm not a heavy user and don't game on my mobile, just YouTube and other standard stuff...

Is the back plastic? I hear conflicting info that states it's just top and bottom and others saying its the whole back central piece.

DId yours come with a clear skin type case this is another thing I heard some people get them others do not?

How you finding the speed I know the Mi A1 had really bad lag after awhile which has not been fixed also had issue with when you touch some areas like text to say select to delete a letter it would register it.

I like Miui myself it's a shame they don't allow you to install it on this phone I know some will say well you can get Redmi 6 which is same phone with Miui but it has no b20 support and is hard to get hold of also it's better to have the option isn't that suppose to be the point of these.

I don't care about NFC and usbc people go over the top with them it really isn't that big of a deal.

I found its always better to go for 4gb version it does make a difference the extra 1gb and £161 is good price a lot of sellers even china ones have these going for around £180

Thanks for your time/help
