**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

is there much bloatware on the poco f2? if so how does one go about ridding it?

Barely noticed if there is. You get ads when installing from play store, but it's easy to turn off. Apart from that, it's absolutely fine.

I really really like. MiUi, I prefer it over Samsungs stuff. I'm very impressed.

I don't use any of the built in aps though.

My Mi 10 Pro arrived yesterday from Wondamobile, first time ordering from them and I have to say I am seriously impressed with the service provided.

I copied over everything last night and I have to say I am very impressed with this handset, the screen is fantastic, even though it is lower resolution than other flagships it really is impressive and the build quality is superb.

I was worried about Miui but I have to say it is fine, the phone uses all standard Google apps which is great and the Snapdragon 865 that powers it seems very powerful and also very power efficient looking at the SOT and battery stats so far.

i ordered the 9s 6gb ram version shipping from Spain. while i wait for delivery i have been looking at its features. apparently it can play youtube in the background - there is a specific chinese app for this. Can anyone who owns this 9s/9 pro confirm this?
What's the specific app ? Are you on global rom or EU ?
I have the 9S,I think you have to allow picture in picture in the settings, never tried to be honest.

The youtube music app plays in the background only with a premium account

Mi A2 arrived today (bought from auction site for £75), it's a very nice phone for the money with little to criticise. Feels nice and responsive and the Android One software is easy to use, the only criticism would be the amount that the camera module sticks out by. Will make a nice little upgrade for my mother from her ageing Y300.

I'm on global Rom. But another ocuk member replied to my post with a universal solution on previous page of this thread and that works instead so I haven't actually tried the Chinese app yet.... My 9s arrived today.
I'm well impressed and agree with others that you do get a lot of phone for your money these days.
A feature that stands out for me is the fact that the phone can turn itself on....a feature I haven't seen since Nokia pre Android days....

If my ~12 month old rings true, the battery life is shocking, if you use it to web browse (Google Chrome here, ~4 hrs SOT tops before < 15% battery left). The situation may have got worse since a buggy Android 10 update just after Xmas, I tried a factory reset, but not convinced it improved battery use.

I know we've had COVID-19 to deal with in recent months, but the monthly "Android One" software update program has been a joke over the last year.

Thanks for the heads up, it's for my mum so she will mainly use it for the bus ticket app, texts and calls. I'll see as time goes by what the battery drain is like with her usage.

How much did you pay and how long did it take for delivery?

I agree.
It's an awesome phone :)

I am on Miui 12 and it's the best android version I have used in years.

Anyone running the xiaomi mi 10 lite? If so what are your thoughts on it?

Looking for a new phone as my contract is up and my huawei mate 20 pro is playing up.

I was looking at the note 10 lite but don't want another curved screen

I Paid £712 with £8 for the faster delivery. Took around 7-8 days to arrive. So £720 all in.

Blimey, used to be the benefit of Chinese phones was that they were cheap, not sure I'd want to put up with Xiaomis ad infested OS at that price, you cut is some slack when you got a flagship performance for mid range money but at 700quid...ooof

I hadn't but thanks for making this even more difficult! The main difference I can see the Poco doesn't have is 90hz refresh rate and no stereo speakers?

Just seen CPW are offering B&B H9's with the purchase of the Oppo Find X2 which is interesting...
