**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

The only thing putting me off a Chinese phone is the lack of 800mhz for 4g.

In real life, what difference has anyone actually noticed with this?

If it wasn't for this I would probably already have one of the Xaoimi phones.
 
Ooh man that redmi note 3 looks so good
Except I'm really wanting stereo speakers of the Alcatel 4s

But the battery and off screen keys.. Looks amazing tbh
 
So if I bite the bullet on a redmi 3 is there anything that needs doing to it (flashing, updating, ect) out of the box to get it running all on form?

from what ive read people generally advise to flash the global rom which installs the gapps and removes the chinese bloat (plus what others have installed)
 
What's peoples thoughts on the Oppo R7 Plus? I've got my finger hovering over it, mainly because of the insane battery size and that Oppo are having a flash sale bringing the phone down to just under £250 including free shipping from their EU site.

Just wanted to see if anybody had thoughts as I've read loads of "reviews" but none from an actual user :(
 
^^ Don't buy from Oppo. I recently bought the R7s from Oppo and there were a few issues. Firstly during set up there wasn't even a United Kingdom region option which is poor. The supplied charger was a two pronged European plug which was unacceptable. Subsequently I returned the device for a refund.
 
Some Chinese phone companies seem to have been quicker than others at setting up a UK distribution system.

For example, a lot of Huawei models can now be purchased directly from Amazon, which does give some re-assurance.... to me anyway!

The return/refund process is also a lot easier should the device not meet the customer's requirements, or not perform as expected.
