As far as I am conerned thats an ideal bedroom or general purpose machine for messing around with. :)

LMAO - Apps with a pre-built PC, you mean time limited demo of Norton A/V or free bundled AOL, or Real Networks RealPlayer, hardly what I'd call Apps.

You can buy Nero 7 Essentials OEM for £1.50, McAfee Internet Security OEM 2007 for £3.56, Power DVD 7 OEM for £1.29, and Vista Home Basic OEM for £39 (all + VAT).

That's still under £300, also on the plus side if you ever need a GFx card, you get a 16x PCI-E slot, most pre-builts at that price have no such thing, not to mention you also get Lifetime Warranty on the RAM and A 3 Year Warranty on the monitor non of which you get with a Pre-Built.

EDIT: Also this is the cheapest PC I can find from a "Big" store with a TFT of anysize

# Intel Celeron D Processor 352
# 3.2GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512KB Cache
# Genuine Windows Vista(TM) Basic
# 512MB RAM Memory
# 80GB Hard Drive
# 16x DVD-ROM
# Onboard VIA UniChrome 9 Graphics
# 6 USB Connections
# 2 PCI Slots
# 15" Advent TFT Monitor

That's hardly a patch on my system and that cost's £309!

Got 2.4GHz on a 420, using an abit AW9D MAX board. FSB is at 300, board doesnt seem to want to go higher, is a bit old now. Temps seem quite high though, 50-60'C, although core temp says the tjunction is 100. I am using the stock cooler.

With a 35 watt tdp this might convince me to do a passive/silent PC for media, downloading and make a file server.

What cooler are you using? If it's stock then the temp is probably normal since the stock cooler for these chips have only half the height with no copper base (from the reviews in OP).

You need to set the strap to 1333, or 1066 if it will have it. Mine does 3.1 on that board (391 FSB), same as P5B deluxe.
