The Official 'Countdown to Wii' Thread!

I'm tempted to ring my local supermarkets up and see when they are getting their stocks in and possibly buy one. Was going to wait till the new year but after seeing so many adverts for it I'm practically wetting myself.

just spoken to one superstore and they have "between 10 and 20 instock" but won't say for sure...

They have 5 people queuing, and they will give you a token, you are then free to wander the store, but must not leave etc.

Now, do I give up my evening, drive 40miles to sit in the store?!?

Nightmare, what to do!

How would they know if you left the store? Watford ASDA is gigantic, they can hardly track you.
 
I pre-ordered mine back in September according to the site and still didnt manage to get one of the first batch (despite being told I would a few days ago). Just how early did you have to be with the wireplay logo dudes to guarantee one?
 
Its like the 360 launch all over again! They'll be reports of riots at supermarkets later on you mark my words!

Never thought I'd see this sort of hype for nintendo console again....makes you feel warm inside :cool:

Hopefully that warmth will help when you're fighting off the masses for a wii & component cable come 12:00 tonight!
 
All supermarkets ive tried so far have 10 in.. but also 10 people queing.. and it looks like my work have messed up my wages.. so i wont find out if i have the ££ for one till 12am... which is no good lol.

Man just phoned the supermarket to see what system they have in place for preorders, ie queue/token etc and apparently there's 5 people in an unofficial queue. Is it worth it? :/ I am off on Friday/Monday.

Masses of people fighting + wii mote + nunchuck + mad Bruce Lee skillz = worth recording.
 
ha @ everybody fightnig to get one, paying inflated prices and ordering online only to be told they cant have one on launch.....my local store might not be open at midnight, but come ~8am tomorrow ill have one in my hands :P

I made my pre-order back in october with GamePlay and damn me if my order not gone missing :(

they are adamant that there was no ordre placed so i'm up poo creak unless i can find a 24hr supermarket doing a midnight launch, but none of my local ones are and we have ALL the supermarkets... does anyone know which supermarkts are doing this so i can find the next-local one and haul ass down there tonight? i GOTTA play zelda and even booked tomorrow off work to play :(

Surley they sent you an email to confirm your oder back in october.
