The Official 'Countdown to Wii' Thread!

Hmm I've got an RGB cable ordered for the 15th but now need to get my hands on a component instead (reason ), what do you think my chances of being able to get one of these before xmas at a reasonable price (ie no eBay cons)?

Got my console from one site and my games from another (they were cheaper), My console is on the way but all my games, cable and wii points are still waiting to be dispachted.


You can see whats going to happen here my console will turn up and i will have no games to play on it :(

I've called my retailer so many times this week they all now know me by name :p

I'm first of the second delivery batch, which they assure me will either be tomorrow or saturday (hoping for tomorrow obviously) and they are getting wii play in stock saturday too :)

I really hope they don't let me down.
 
The wii I am so kindly unpacking for my brother is due to come tomorrow, not convinced I'm going to get that much out of one player wii sports which is the only thing I'll have over the weekend.

Wii Play looks total rubbish and that's the only other game he's ordered so far.

Why are there no reviews for Far Cry so far it's out pretty soon and is a definite maybe?

Anyone else notice the bit at the bottom of the newsletter Nintendo sent out today?

"Link your account for addition benefits.
By linking your Wii Shop Channel account to your online Nintendo membership, you will be able to enjoy additional benefits in the near future. Not only will you then be able to purchase Wii Points in the Stars Catalogue, you will also get Stars for your Virtual Console purchases upon completing a small survey"

Depending on the cost in stars of the Wii points it could work out pretty well as you get 5 stars a day for visiting Nintendo's site, 500 per console (and about 250-400 per bit of hardware), 250 per Nintendo game etc, so you might end up getting several free VC games a year through it.

He means that the best way of connecting a Wii up to a HDTV is via extra component connection, which should give you the best picture in 480p mode, which is not a HD mode, but will give the best picture next to the composite connection you'll normally get.

ah i see, thanks for clearin that up for me. im getting mine on monday (hopefully on sat tho) for £150
