OK, perhaps I was a little premature in my initial impressions review...

I maxed out to level 8 on the Hunter class, having reached level 4 this morning with Titan, I'm enjoying myself more now. Here are my updated impressions:

+ The Halo holy trinity of melee/grenade/primary is still fantasic, the core gun play is enjoyable
+ Graphics are fabulous, though 60fps would have been nice, I do appreciate the graphical fidelity, especially the shadows which are amazing
~ Fusion rifle and hand cannon... erm, tis all about the shotgun and auto/pulse for me. I hope the weapons become more diverse in their own class as you level beyond 8!
- Still have concerns the game may become repetitive, though I stand to be corrected once the world opens up as does the multiplayer game types
- Still not liking the no respawn thing when tackling big bosses, as it's wholly dependant on your public coop team mates being strategic or just damn idiots. Though nod to the fact that playing with friends would be wholly different, shame I don't have any :(
- To me, still doesnt feel like theres a lot of loot like Borderlands, the world seems a little empty really. I still dont understand the mechanics of how I bag new weapons and equipment, is the system entirely random? Stuff just seems to appear from weak enemies as much as it does from bosses. The odd crates I find just seem to have the blue gemstone things in - no weapons or anything?

FYI - for anyone like me who was disappointed a little, try another class before you give in, the Titan class is much more my style and I really like the grenade, jump and special on this class, plus the additional armour lets you have a tad more fun.

oHUTCHYo add me if you fancy a game at some point.

Also just a heads up guys, there's a special multi-player event tonight, its 2pm pdt which I think is 10pm here? It only last two hours though.

Notes so far:

The AI is appallingly bad. I mean, really bad. If it's this bad at this stage of development with 2 months till releae then I am more than a little worried. Enemies don't approach when you shoot them, and when you get close they just basically strafe left and right. I fought the Archon big boss and he literally just stayed at a distance shooting at nothing... and even when I stood out in the open he hardly hit me.

The cursor system is incredibly annoying. Instead of automatically switching between the available clickable buttons I seem to have to always physically move the cursor to select something, That is going to get old very fast.

Last but not least... the framerate is jerky and not smooth. I have seen this also mentioned online when I did a Google, and again, this is not a good stage to be having this issue.

The game seems ok, the story is also pretty cool, but all in all certainly nothing overly special thus far, and nowhere near the impact that they had with Halo...

EDIT - And the vegetation looks like something out of a game from 1999...

Agree

Agree, they are ok on the ps4, could have been better, maybe holding to support other consoles

all weapons seem to be different, i hope they never have 1 better then anything else

i agree, it can be goto area, kill loads of stuff, then repeat. pretty much like every fps :)

i wish they never add respawn when fighting big bosses, otherwise you will not care about starting again, just attack and respawn and repeat seems to make it to easy and no need to work as a team.

blue gemstone, allows you to buy stuff, i think you need to buy spaceships to travel to different places e.g. moon so on.

you can also collect a plant thing in the map, not sure what it does at the moment.

alpha i was warlock, this time i'm a hunter and not liking it all.

The plant you collect is spinmetal and you can trade it in for points to spend on special items. And the drops are based on how many kills you've made and how much experience you have earned. I think the item itself is randomised within a range though.

First come first served lads. Please say when you have claimed.
