*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

6v6 felt fine tbh because the multiplayer map was the right size, but 8v8 IMO would also work on a map that size. It took a bit of time to find someone and some guys were a much higher level just pwning everyone so matchmaking needs tweaking

Level Advantages are Disabled in Standard Crucible Matches

In the standard Control playlist, we normalize incoming and outgoing damage to keep players on a level playing field.

• People bring in all their own gear, and we Matchmake players based on Skill

that cannot be working or there isn't enough people on, this guy had green everything, high level and his score was 4-8 times everyone else's and he had a k/d ratio of like 4.25

he owned everyone and he was using the best gear

To be fair, you can just have really good rounds.

I had a K/D ratio of 6.5 or so last night with a standard 49 damage pulse rifle and 130 defence.

Next round, same setup and I had a K/D ratio of 0.4...

I noted that when I got a good combo going, 2-3 rifle kills, pick up the heavy ammo, blast 2 more with machine gun, then unlock golden gun and get 3 more, get 1 with a grenade then another 2 with machine gun before dying.
1 crazy run like that and you just shoot up.

Likewise, 3 minutes of being shot in the back and you just get nowhere.

When I got all those kills in a row, my team mates were telling me enemy locations

When it goes well, it goes really well - when it doesn't you look terrible.

We all had a bad round last night and my 0.4 k/d was the highest on our team. lol

I have found I'm getting pretty good in the crucible now. My K/D ranges between 1.2 on a bad game all the way up to 7 when I'm doing really well.

I just aim for the head, flank around the edges of the map and keep one eye on the radar. Oh and hulk smashing people with my super while they're capturing the point.

Yeah headshots are where it's at like - as always. But they do make a massive difference here. That's why I went with Pulse rifle over Auto rifle (latter I prefer against Ai).
I got one with increased stability so you can really nail those headshots. It's just not very good close quarters and I always forget to knife people!! (so used to BF4 where you don't knife unless it's stealth).

I'm going to be playing PvP most of the week so feel free to add me for games.

Nothing else to play right now so might as well milk this while I can and try some more gun variations out to see what my preference is ahead of release

I really want the Ghost edition, but not sure whether I'd be able to cope spending that much :p

So what seems to be the better class for PvP so far? I've not had a chance to play any yet.

Probably the Titan, seems to be better all round, although the Warlock isn't too bad in actual fact, not tried the Hunter yet.

I didn't find any difference really. I think the main difference is which special you prefer.

I like using the Hunter because I find the Golden Gun special to be great for multiplayer - but only when using voice chat because if you activate it at the wrong time it's easily wasted.

Titan seems most popular though I think

I play titan, have to confess to not playing the other two classes at all yet. I just love my titan so much ha. And cheers blitzwing I'll add you when I'm next on. :)

I just love Warlock so far.

Nothing more satisfying than finding a whole team capturing a point during PvP and dropping a Nova bomb on them, total team wipe out

Aye I've been done by that ground pound special a few times while capping a point, along with my mates!! haha
It's pretty lethal - as is the Warlock one!

It'll really open up once you unlock sub-classes etc later on too as you can get a team with different classes.

I love how everything carries between characters too like money, shop ranks etc. It means you and your mates can have a varied PvP team, and separate character for playing vs the AI if you want, without having to do it all over

I have to agree, its a very clever system. Here's hoping they let us keep everything we have earned in the Beta. I have some legendary stuff that I can't wait to use! I've also put a lot of effort into this character. To see it deleted and have to start again would be a shame.

Yeah It'll be interesting to see what they plan to do.
If match-making really does even it all out then it shouldn't matter if people keep their characters. Plus, some people play 10x more than others anyway so any gaps would appear within 1 day.

I don't think I'd mind that much either way given how it'll be 6 weeks from Beta ending to release - but if they do let us keep it all then great.

Mind you, with the gold chest bug I found then my completionist attitude would create a problem for me there - it'd always say 4/5. lol

I figured the Titan will be best for PvP due to higher armour. My play style tends to be quite conservative so am hoping the Warlock suits me more. I'd expect blink will be really useful once unlocked.

I find I do better in iron banner than I do in the crucible. I think mainly because I have spent the entire weekend on this game ha, so my character is pretty well kitted out. But I do think the Titan is the best class for Iron Banner judging from what I have seen. In normal crucible Hunters seem to be king.
