*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I'm in but it keeps going blank on the roster :/

edit: first round tonight and managed to fluke a 21/3 KD because I hogged the tank on the moon map.

I've enjoyed playing this but I'm bored of it now. Just going to the same location all the time gets boring.
I'll definitely be buying the full game. I was a little bit apprehensive but playing the beta has convinced me.

I love this game, I've probably put a good 12+ hours in and it's only a beta. The full game is going to blow my mind :)

Decent on your own but comes into its own when with a fire squad and an absolute joy when playing with mates. I'm a bit crap at the pvp multi but I'm glad deaths are not highlighted. Makes me feel less terrible and encourages me to keep going back to improve.

Ive had a lot of fun with it.

6 hours is enough to see that I will very much enjoy the game when it comes out.
I hope they keep up with regular map and equipment packs, after all, they have the entire universe to play with.

Not sure I'm convinced by this - the missions in the beta were all essentially the same. Land, go through open world, go through tunnel, get to no respawn point, fight a large number of enemies.

The high loading times seemed to break up the game a bit too much and I'm still not sure I like the idea of leveling up in an FPS.

I was playing with lat and puki yesterday and it's a game you will only really enjoy playing with other people it felt amazing for a beta. I like the spawnable hover jet bike and the boosted jumping. Are the bf4 ps4 players jumping onto this? It's only boring if your playing by yourself IMO, you really do need at least a party of 3 but the more the better.

Will the final game be 6v6 multiplayer? Or maybe slightly bigger?

6v6 felt fine tbh because the multiplayer map was the right size, but 8v8 IMO would also work on a map that size. It took a bit of time to find someone and some guys were a much higher level just pwning everyone so matchmaking needs tweaking

I'm sure that the real game will be even better, felt like a upgraded halo 2 (which is a good thing).

I don't like the length of time this takes to load, yes the distraction of the ship hovering, then moving to another screen is cool to start with, but you end up waiting around for what feels like minutes at a time.

The mission structure of land, go to waypoint, do objective, then go to the final waypoint into the 'dark' then fight a horde of enemies is also quite boring.

I can see why there is a lot of people who think it's pretty one dimensional, because it is.

How well the PvP stuff works I cannot comment because I haven't played that yet.

The respawning enemies once you clear them out (I played the second mission with enemies on ships in the desert, where you first get the hover bike, I took them out, scanned the radio thing, then went to the other one to scan it, and when I came back the first lot of enemies were spawned again) and go back past them are also very boring, vibes of FarCry 2 all over again.

The beta was simply a small sample of the missions, you really only get the benefit when playing with friends. Regarding leveling up in an FPS, it's not strictly an FPS really, it has more in common with an RPG. Plus it's not the first game to combine FPS and RPG, Fallout for example.

It feels like there is now an MMO I can get into :)

Well, I've had nothing but praise for this since playing the Beta. I find it absolutely amazing - helped by the fact that there are 6 of us playing it together.

PvP was random at first but 4 of us teamed up last night and just destroyed everyone by working as a team.

A few small niggles for me - but only minor:

-couldn't skip cut scenes when replaying a story mission on Harder difficulty
-Can squad up with 6, 2x 3 man fire teams but can then only enter PvP. I really hope there are missions where you can have 2 fire teams in the full release.

Also 1 bug:

I got all 5 chests, but 5th one gave me no reward (should have been speeder) and now it's gone. Stats say I've got 4/5. Double checked them all and no chests are there now.

Other than those things though, I can't find another fault with it. I don't find it repetitive because each time my team has played a certain part, it's been a little different. Plus, chatting to your mates etc while doing it just generally makes it more interesting full stop.

THIS is the first game so far where I've thought: This is why I bought a PS4

The wait until release now will suck

Yep, its going to be slow and painful. I can't see me playing many games between the end of the beta and the full release :(.

Yeah me neither. I never did play Last of Us so will probably try that, and I am getting Diablo 3 but that's mid August.

After the last few days, I just want to play Destiny! lol

I don't think they would increase it to 8 as a fireteam is 3 people, the idea of the 6v6 is that you can have 2 fire teams per team
