Indeed, every Halo since the first has had it's share of criticism. I think 4 was definitely up there with the best Bungie efforts (and a lot of the studio is former Bungie anyway)

I don't see what Titanfall is offering over anything else to get people worked up.

If it was Mechwarrior 2014, then yes, I would have a Xbone sitting here right now with the game on pre order, but it isn't, its nowhere near.

The hype for Titanfall is generally based on the reactions of pretty much everyone who has played it, who say it's amazing. Even though it looks like a generic shooter with some mechs thrown in, it seems to have been done incredibly well, based on initial user reactions.

How the final game stacks up though is obviously anyone's guess.

I agree with what your saying about halo 4. Just didnt keep me going back for more like the previous 2. Only played a month or two and got bored.

Im probably gonna wait and see what the reviews are like for destiny and how it plays on both consoles before deciding which console.

I really hope they have some decent BTB/ MLG/ competitive gametypes in the matchmaking playlists.

They talk about using some gameplay elements from borderlands and how they think they can improve on them together with loot etc. in one of the gameinformer videos.

Destiny info drought again for a while until things gets serious in spring/ summer with the beta methinks.

I'll be getting it but for co-op. I reckon it'll be boring playing on your own but good fun playing with friends.

That's what I'm doing too. I enjoyed Borderlands 1/2 enough on my own but me and 2 mates played through them together online but once a month or so we'd set up 3 TVs, 3 PS3s at my house and play it all night getting drunk. Was such a good laugh.

Now everyone has PS4s instead of split between the consoles three will be 6 of us who play regular so I really can't wait for some really good, expansive co-op titles.

Destiny may not look to bring anything groundbreaking, but personally I think it looks really good at what it is so I'm certainly excited for it.

Exactly. The way I see it, lots of things are similar to what's been done but it doesn't mean someone can't come along and top everything before it.

I have albums released in genres I've heard 100s of albums from over 30+ years and sometimes a new one just blows them all out the water even though it's very similar and follows the same basic formula.

I want new stuff this gen too, but I hope, and so far believe that Destiny could take everything I like about games in this genre, and then just make it all better.

Hopefully I'm right. I'm impressed with what I've seen so far - not just footage but also the comments from the devs - important in a time when many devs really don't care at all. They have convined me so far they really are trying to make it amazing.
