I think its a far better idea than just allowing 6 randoms to go together IF there's some requirement to work together. Surely being on these forums would allow people to organise themselves into such groups as hoc if you can't get another 5 friends?

I can't see it being a problem, playing with an organised fire team with comma is just so much better.

Yeah it just looks and feels so fluid, between melee/grenade/weapon/super. Its just a pleasure to play and doesn't feel clunky at all. Also love the slide and shoot dynamic. I picked up a few high level beta weapons which affect slide mechanics as a sort of perk.

That's my thoughts too. If it's built this way, it should mean playing with actual mates is just so much fun. And if you can only gather 1 or 2, then there will be dozens and dozens on here who would likely team up and there will be the actual Bungie forums, or forums for trophies etc. Any number of places people can go to form a team.

I'd rather it be made this way and sometimes require a tiny bit more effort from me - but at least I know I'll get a consistent co-op experience each time.

I played Borderlands with randoms without headsets and honestly I might as well have just played Solo. It added nothing at all to the experience. Playing it with friends, or people with headsets though and it was brilliant.

PUG's from using matchmaking can work together though, yes there probably is a higher chance of failure, but sometimes it does work. I'd rather have the option to be able to make a group for raiding at a instant together with being able to manual invite players from a community or whatever.

I've seen it all before in WoW from being in tight knit structured guilds, there are times when you can manually make groups as fast as possible, usually this is when the content is new and everyone wants to play it. Other times it can take hours to make a group, because most people are done with it, got the loot the wanted from it etc.

People will just PUG this anyway, because this is not a perfect world where friends are ALWAYS available when ever you want to play. Which is no different from auto matchmaking in game.
 
I'm thinking about getting the digital version of Destiny. Are you able to preload it so it's ready to play at midnight?

Destiny is going to be the first game that allows preloading so you should be fine.

* assuming you are talking about the PS4 version
 
Surprisingly TLoU EU version was the first with preloading in the end. I presume all PS4 digital preorders will feature that now...

Can someone tell me what the LE is going for? Im tempted if it isnt much more than the normal + expansion pass. Raids broke me...

Yeah I think they said all pre-orders starting with destiny at the end april/beginning may was going to offer preload.

The Destiny Digital Guardian Edition is £84.99 which I guess isn't bad as the retail at certain stores is more.
 
My work stuff is blocked down so what versions of Destiny can you get? I like me a good old collectors edition but recently collectors editions have been a bit pap.

Pre-ordered the limited edition. Saw a few sites saying it would be stupid to get it over the slightly cheaper - doesn't seem to be cheaper to me anyway - digital version of the guardian version. I'll take a fancy box, physical item and the little extra's for £80 off the rainforest. Oh, the added ability of reselling! :cool:
 
Absolutely loved the Beta and have got the Special Edition pre-ordered with Amazon for £80, which I thought was a decent price. The only problem is not many of my friends have a PS4 to play it with so if anybody wants to add me for some Raids and that, please work away as I think this would be much better played in a team. Cheers

Remember to join the Overclockers Clan or someother clan, that will also help you getting people to play it with - there will not be a shortage :)
