*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I don't really care which I choose so I'm just going to let my mates choose first and pick whatever is represented the least. I played Hunter in Beta though so wouldn't mind one of the others - so Warlock is looking quite likely.

Although I do love Sniping so if the Hunter gets more abilities to aid in Sniping then I may stick to that as I suspect most of my mates will pick Titan

From what I saw most people seemed to be playing Warlocks.

Sure Hunters get capes but Warlocks get awesome long coats.

I'd like a witches hat :)

There was a stats page for the Beta, I'm in work now but can't look for it but at the time the large majority were Hunters especially when you looked at the highest scores in PvP.

I loved the warlock class but didn't get to try out the others.

Interesting that ps3udo I didn't know about the extra subclasses. To be honest I haven't really read up much on what the final game will give us.

I'm happy enough with what I've experienced so far to know that I will like it. Some are being too harsh on it I think and forgetting that it was a beta we were playing. Even going so far as to give review scores for it. Ridiculous imo.

Apologies if posted already, some info on end game stuff and raids: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/07/30/destiny-the-endgame-is-only-the-beginning-ign-first

Raids are “extremely crafted,” six-player, friends-only gauntlet runs that might best be described as gut-checks. Yes, they will be difficult, and they will absolutely require communication and cooperation. That’s why Bungie isn’t supporting matchmaking for them; the developers don’t want them to be played by disparate groups of strangers. But Smith is quick to point out that they’re not like Strikes – the instanced dungeon-like runs that might take a mere 20-60 minutes – but more like MMO raids in that you’re going to want to buckle up and get comfortable for a couple hours.

The worst thing is it being published by Activision. Which means little to no discounts in digital store sales ever.

Please do tell me how many hours gameplay the standard game should provide before you feel you aren't being fleeced?

I like a good value for money game like everyone else, oblivion and skyrim are good examples. However. After 100 hours plus gameplay, I don't feel like I'm being fleeced by some dlc! If I'm still enjoying the game and want to extend its game time, why shouldn't I be expected to pay more?

Hell, I'll quite happily pay for a new game that offers only 12 hours of single player only gameplay if the game is good, then trade it for a good return. I don't expect a good return on something like destiny, as by the time I'm done with it will be worth nowt anyway. I still won't feel fleeced.

I hate DLC period unless it's free. Most of it is junk. Typically, you might get one out of four that is worth paying for.
